Social Activities towards Society

Bhavan’s Kala Kendra

1. Bhavan’s Kala Kendra is set up under the motive of promoting Indian culture on

November 2014 in order to promote Indian Fine Arts of Music Dance & Dramas. During

the session 2015-16 various programs of music, dance and dance drama have been

organised every month like Talat Mehmood, Solo drama Presentation, Musical Eve. By

Indu Bala, - Sufi nite, Mukesh Nite, Lata Kishore Nite, Indradhanush etc.

Bhavan’s P.D Kumar Memorial Gyandeep School (For underprivileged children)

2. Bhavan’s P.D Kumar Memorial Gyandeep School of 250 students for under privileged

Section of Society is giving quality education to 250 students from Nursery to X std with

free books, uniform, bags, shoes and mid day meal.

Chinmaya Widow Ration Pension Programme

3. a) Chinmaya Widow Ration Pension Programme is held every month in school in

which nearly 200 widows are given Ration of Rs 1000/- every month. School donates

nearly Rs 1,00,000/- for Ration every year to host one program. Students and staff

of the school participate in the program.

b) To celebrate 100 Birth Anniversary of Puyya Swami Chinmayananda Ji, Bhavan’s SL

Public School-II, Islamabad hosted 1st Chinmaya Widow Ration Programme on 8th May,

2016 in which 51 widows were given ration of Rs. 1000/- each.

4. Bhavan’s Muskaan School for Mentally Challenged and Down syndrome Children is

providing quality education. They are encouraged to participate in various activities of

sports and other competition and they are excelling in that.

Bhavan’s Gandhi Computer Centre

5. Bhavan’s Gandhi Computer Centre is providing various computer courses (Desktop

Publishing, Web Page Designing, Office Assistant Course) Free of cost to the weaker

section of Society since its inauguration in 2001.

Mass marriages

6. It is Bi-annual Programme in which students & staff of school collectively arrange for

the marriage of the girls belonging to destitute. This year marriage of 25 couples of

disadvantaged and needy sections of society were held. Items of worth over 25

thousand were given as gift to each couple, with the cooperation of Parents, students

and social workers.

Chinmaya P.D Kumar Charitable Homeopathic Dispensary

7. Chinmaya P.D Kumar Charitable Homeopathic Dispensary was inaugurated on 15th

March, 2009. It is set up in the premises of Bhavan’s School where free medication is

provided to the public.

Bhavan’s R.L Mittal Memorial Gyandeep School (Bhavan’s School II) (For

Underprivileged Children)

8. Bhavan’s R.L Mittal Memorial school for poor children in Bhavan’s School-II started in

the year 2015 is giving quality education to under privileged students of Islamabad area

of Amritsar. Presently we have 60 students.

9. Bhavan’s SL Public School II, Islamabad organised a show of Upanishad Ganga, a TV

serial in Hindi directed by Chand Prakash Trivedi and produced by Chinmaya Mission in

which episodes based on 16 sanskaars were shown to the parents.

10. Labour Day was celebrated in Bhavan’s School . Non teaching staff. maids, sweeper

& labour class were appreciated. Shawls were distributed to them as a token of love.

11. School celebrated International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking by

organizing various activities based on Drugs. Sh Dhruman Nimbale IPS ADCP graced the

occasion and Winners were awarded.

12. Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan rally was organised by 500 Bhavanties from school

campus to Shivala Bhaiyan through slogans and posters. They encouraged public about

the importance of cleanliness.

13. Cancer awareness Rally was organised by Bhavanties in collaboration with Inner

Wheel Club of Amritsar from school to company bagh.

14. Self Defence one week camp for girls was held in school to train girls in Karate

Technique for their self defense.

15. School is ahead in Red Cross activities. Every year school host state and national

level camp in school premises and our students participate actively in all the activities

organised by Red Cross society. School has received many awards at state and national

level for promoting Red Cross activities.

16. School provides venue for Scouts and guides camp. Our students (104 from 5th to

8th std) actively participate in the activities like pitching tents, cooking without fire, first

aid service, patrol system and rules of cleanliness.

X) Student/Teachers Exchange Programme (NATIONAL LEVEL)

1. 15 students and 2 teachers attended 4 days camp organized by(CCMT) Central Chinmaya Mission Trust along with National Adventure Foundation at Coimbtore.Various activities like Conservation of nature , usage of natural resources were taken by trained and expert instructor.(NATIONAL LEVEL)

2. 33 students with 2 teachers attended CHYK 8th Annual North Zone Camp from 27 June -2nd July2015 at Sidhbari under the guidance of Swami Chidrupanandaji . (NATIONAL LEVEL)

3. 7 students , 2 teachers ;Gunjan and Komal along with Principal Dr.Anita Bhalla visited President house to celebrate Children Day. 4. National Youth Exchange Programme Bhavan hosted Inter state Junior Red Cross Camp -24 30th Dec.2015 in school.256 students from 13 different states and 15 teachers of Punjab participated in it. Our students excelled 14 various activities.

to time to nurture the creativity of students through various activities like rangoli

making , role play, poster making etc.

12. Value based Movies and documentaries are shown to students in Hari Har

Hall.

13.Temple at entrance of the school where students bow their heads early in the

14. No Junk Food is sold in canteen . Eatables like Vegetable sandwich , Fresh

Juice , Milk are kept in Canteen.

1. Art and Craft Exhibition cum Fete was organized on 11th April 2015.Craft articles

made by students were displayed.

2.Fevicol Science Project /model making competition was organized in school on 18

Aug.2015.Students made various models based on Global Warming ,Traffic

Management, Pollution etc.

3. Graduation ceremony is held every year in which students of Prewing ( Ist Std.) put

Black Gown and get their scrolls for entering in main wing.

4. All the religious and national festivals are celebrated in school campus.

5. Fun filled and educational trips are organized every year for students .Students visit

Mumbai ,Wonder Land, Siddhbari, Kodaikanal ,Chintpurni,Sun City etc.

6. Assemblies are held according to important days where children present role play

,news ,thought etc.

7. Inter House activities are held to exhibit the talent of students (Declamation, poetry

Recitation, Salad Making, Mehndi Competition, Calligraphy, Debate , poster making,

Slogan Writing etc.)

3.Inter House Sports Meet 2015 was organized on 18th Aug.2015. Students participate in

Slow Cycling , Tug Of War and Dodge the ball.

4.Sanskrit Week Celebration on 28 Aug. various activities like Shaloka Chanting ,

Poetry recitation , Quiz were held in school.

XII) (ii) Value Education Implementation

1. Geeta Jayanti was celebrated in school students chanted first 10 Shalokas from the

15th Chapter of Shrimad Bhagwatgita.

2. Janamashtmi was celebrated in school premises by tableau presentation by students

based on life of Lord Krishna. Sh Anil Joshi Cabinet Minister for Local Bodies, Medical

Education & Research; Pb. Graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

3. Light and Sound show Mahabharat was organised. School also welcomed Chinmaya

Jyoti Yatra.

4. Padamshree Odissi dancer Geeta Mahalik presented Odissi dance organised by SPIC

MACAY in school premises. She matched the steps with Bhangra Dancer of school.

Students learnt many mudras of Odissi dance from her.

5. Distt. Level Chinmaya International Geeta Chanting Camp 2015 was held at Bhavans.

4 students were given cash prizes of Rs 5000/- each by Swami Chidrupanndaji, Acharya

Chinmaya Mission Noida.

6. Ganesh Chaturth was celebrated in school by organizing Sculpture making

Competition of Lord Ganesha. Sh O.P Verma Renowned Sculptor was invited to cheer

up the students creations.

7. Gayatri Havan is regular feature in school

which is held in every morning in school

campus. Birthday students attend the havan.

Each and every class takes turn to attend

havan. Havan is also held to start new session,

after Summer break, after winter break, starting of the board examination.

11. Sarvodharam prayers are special features of our morning assembly. Every Tuesday

Hanuman Chalisa is chanted in Assembly.

12. Shanti Mantra is chanted before starting the classes.

13. Religious festival like Janamashtami, Christmas, Diwali, Dussehra, Baisakshi, Guru

Parv, Basant Panchmi are celebrated in school campus traditionally.

14. National festival like Independence Day, Republic Day, Teacher’s Day, Gandhi

Jayanti and Children Day are celebrated in school by organising various activities to
