Volunteer Screening Process The success of Girl Scouts relies on the careful selection and placement of volunteers. To ensure safety for our girls and the right fit for our volunteers, our council utilizes an application process. This process includes a volunteer application, background check and , in some cases, an interview. Your Gift to Girls Your gift of time to girls is incredible, and we appreciate your willingness to support these young leaders! There are other ways you can make a difference for girls. Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri benefits from financial support and increased public awareness of United Way and CFC donors. Being a Girl Scout volunteer offers exciting opportunities to meet new people, use time meaningfully, share special talents, and teach practical skills while learning new ones. More than 9,000 adult volunteers make Girl Scouts possible in our region! Supportive adult role models are essential to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. There are many opportunities that will match with your interest areas; short or long-term positions and working directly with girls or other adults. We can’t wait to have you as a Girl Scout volunteer!

Troop Leader / Assistant Leader: Support girls who meet regularly as they share enriching troop-based experiences.

Gold Award Advisor: Encourage and support high school girls as they work toward the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award.

School Recruiter: Build awareness for Girl Scouts in your school and serve as the point of contact for other adult volunteers, parents / caregivers, and school staff.

Council Trainer: Help girls by supporting adult volunteers. Deliver training to orient and support adults in their volunteer role.

Assistant Camp Counselor: Love the outdoors and want to share your expertise with girls? Say yes to supporting girls through activities at camp.

Service Unit Registrar: Work in a regional area to ensure girls and adult volunteers are properly registered as Girl Scouts.

Shop Assistant: Love retail and engaging with new people? Join us in the GSKSMO Shop to assist volunteers and parents / caregivers with all their Girl Scout needs.

Assistant Program Leader: Join us in support of our Outreach Program offered after school in low income schools. You will work with our part-time staff to bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to these amazing girls.

Puente Volunteer: Are you bilingual? Use your Spanish to connect with your community and help us bring Girl Scouting through recruitment events to Spanish-speaking families.

Service Unit Manager: Lead a team of adult volunteers to support Girl Scouts in a regional area.

Service Unit Product Sales Manager: Cookies do great things for girls! Oversee the operations and support troop volunteers through the Cookie and/or Candy, Nuts & Magazine Programs in a regional area.
