Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the 2017 HRO Today Forum, North America event. This year’s theme is “Driving Corporate Strategy.” Our most fragile, dependable, and temperamental assets in business are people. And, while they may have all the aforementioned flaws, they are capable of amazing achievement, loyalty, and perseverance if properly motivated, engaged, and compensated. All of these responsibilities are the province of HR guiding the executive and management cohorts of their organizations. CEOs now understand that people are the difference and the role of HR is more mission-critical than ever before. At this year’s HRO Today Forum, North America event we will endeavor to do four things:

Our informative sessions, many of which provide HRCI certification credits, will help you see new perspectives, learn from case studies, and provide you with the opportunity to hear CHROs, talent acquisition leaders and organizational development professionals discuss the challenges they have faced and the solutions that you may wish to consider for your organization. We have a plethora of networking activities, including interactive content sessions, where you can work together as teams to solve problems and engage in peer-to-peer learning while you expand your personal network. We will entertain you as well with our annual awards gala. We return to the Second City for another fabulous party, and we have several networking breakfasts and a few exercises. The HRO Today Forum, North America event is also a gathering of the executive level of the HR community, so we will be recognizing the extraordinary leaders and accomplishments in HR. Our annual awards gala will honor top CHROs who are members of the 2017 Leaders of Distinction Class and individual CHRO of the Year Award winners. We will recognize great leadership in talent acquisition, HR in the healthcare industry, and our HRO Today Services and Technology Association Awards. We will be honoring the role of technology with our iTalent Awards for new HR solutions, and our TekTonic Awards for innovation. On behalf of the HRO Today Services and Technology Association and the entire SharedXpertise team, we warmly welcome you to the annual HRO Today Forum, North America event.

Throughout the next several days, we will be exploring the highest standards in the management and support of services, technologies, and overall HR functions. What will be your takeaways from this year’s event? Will you embrace a new idea that you learn during one of our panel discussions led by CHROs and talent acquisition leaders? Will it be a new technology you discover during our iTalent technology competition? Will it be a best practice that is shared during our table topic session on managing millennials? On Tuesday, May 2, we invite all talent acquisition professionals to join us for the kickoff and introduction of the Talent Acquisition Leader Executive Network Team (TALENT). This is HRO Today’s way of helping companies and talent acquisition leaders be more successful in a collaborative executive network. This group will be dedicated to advancing the profession and industry with essential, knowledge-based, data-driven thought leadership, collaboration, and transformation. The HRO Today Services & Technology Association is also responding to the needs of members and enabling technology to help us better manage social media, online networking, on-demand learning, and virtual opportunities to engage. The association brings its members great content each month via our Thought Leadership Councils’ (TLCs) webinars, which explore and discuss topics within talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations and services, and outsourcing. The monthly newsletter and our website feature breaking news, trends, and best practices from our global HR members. Our monthly committee empowers members to drive how the association responds to industry needs, sets standards and practices, and enhances our user experience. Topics from many of the monthly TLCs and member discussions will be showcased throughout the event in plenary tracks, best-practice-sharing sessions, panels, and sessions.

While the next several days at the HRO Today Forum will provide an excellent opportunity for our members and each of the Forum delegates to participate in great conversations, industry recognition, and best practice sharing, the association allows you to continue these actions daily. This year, the association is taking the 10-minute showcase featured in our annual events and offering new TLC Talks—10-minute, quick learning podcasts that will showcase research and best and next practices in the world of HR.
