Where did Islamic teachings
come from?
The Holy Quran
The sayings and practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
Prayer Prayer is one of the five
pillars of Islam
Muslims pray 5 times a dayto praise and thank God for all the things He has given.
Muslims do “ WUDHU ” before every prayer.
That means they wash their hands, mouth, nose, ears, face, arms, head and feet.
Prayers teaches discipline and to overcome laziness.
Like physical food, prayer is spiritual food for the body
●Fajar- breakfast
●Zuhur- lunch
●Asr- Mid afternoon

●Maghrib- Tea
●Ishaa- Supper

Mosque Mosque is a place of
prayer for Muslims
Muslims gather to offer
their prayers in the mosque
which give them chance to
pray together and socialize
as well.
It teaches them equality
and brotherhood.
Muslims are advised to
stand straight in a line
while praying.
Fasting
Fasting helps Muslims to:
Improve the health of the body, clears the mind and soul
learn self control, patience and discipline.
care and understand the pain of a poor and hungry person
give up bad habits and replace them with good ones.
Muslims break their fast with prayer.
The first thing they eat is dates because it was the practice of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).
Muslims are advised to eat healthy and in moderation.
•Holy Quran is 1400 years old book.
•It is a Book from God.
•Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet
Muhammad PBUH in the month of
Ramadan that's why Muslims read
Quran more often during Ramadan.
•Muslims are expected to read the
Holy Quran daily and live their lives
according to its teachings.
•It has 114 chapters and 30 parts.
•The complete Holy Quran has been
translated into 50 languages of the
world.
Holy Quran
Charity Charity is one of the
pillars of Islam.
Muslims give 2.5 % of their spare money every month to poor and needy people
It teaches them to help people and share our money so the poor can also enjoy what
God has given to us.
Muslim celebrate two festivals:
1) Eid-ul-Fitr- celebration after the month of fasting
2) Eid-ul-Adha- remembrance of sacrifice by Prophet Abraham (as)
The main purpose of Muslim festival is to thank God and promote love and brotherhood.
MUSLIM FESTIVAL
On Eid Day Muslims put on their new clothes before offering Eid prayer.
Muslims girlsand women put Henna on their
hands, wear sparkly dresses,
shoes and bangles on Eid
day.
After offering the prayers inthe mosque Muslims greet each other with “Eid Mubarak”.
Muslims give charity to the poor and needy on Eid so they can also enjoy the celebrations of Eid.
They meet their friends and relatives, eat special meals and exchange Eid gifts with each other.
