Electrical Upgrades for Continuation of Product Life

Prime ONE is committed to continuing support for Horiba legacy dynamometers. As a result, we offer several solutions to replace or rebuild existing equipment. We can also integrate our controls and hardware retrofits to work on other manufacturers’ equipment. Our product line that supports legacy equipment is as follows:

1) CDC-1000 Control Upgrade .......................................... DV & Twin Roll Machines

This upgrade is intended to replace the DOS based control system used on older Horiba dynamometers. It includes replacement of the CDC-900 backplane and RTM computer with a Windows based control system.

2) CDC-1000 Control Upgrade—Standalone ........................... DV & Twin Roll Machines

This is the CDC-1000 upgrade built as a standalone cabinet for situations where a standard CDC-900 cabinet is not present. This option can be integrated to work on other manufacturers’ equipment.

3) Power Converter Upgrade ............................................ DV & Twin Roll Machines

This upgrade replaces the discontinued Baldor/SWEO drives found in older series Power Converters. It involves a complete replacement of the Power Converter backplane. The ratings of the system can also be increased at the customer’s request. This upgrade can also be implemented with the DD series dynamometers to achieve higher capacities.

4) RTM Computer Upgrade ............................................................... All Machines

This upgrade replaces the user interface RTM computer. It uses a small form factor Mini-ITX motherboard which greatly reduces the chassis size. This computer can be installed with Windows, DOS, or both and additional hardware can be added at the customer’s request.

5) CDC-900 Processor Upgrade ......................................................... All Machines

This upgrade replaces the Black Box CPU in any Horiba dynamometer controller. It includes a new half-size single board computer, Disk-On Module hard drive, and new serial port cards.
