Third Week of Easter
In this third week of the Easter Season, we reflect upon how the graces of Easter are received in our hearts and what it means for our daily journey.
We grow in a sense that Easter is not simply a one day celebration. We celebrate Easter every Sunday. But, this is a season which lets us enter more deeply into the joy and the acceptance of the great gift of life everlasting.
Through prayer we ask for the graces we desire and to speak with our Lord, friend to friend. We get a window into the early faith community's announcement of and witness to the good news of the gift of eternal life. We listen to Jesus talking about himself, and the way he gives himself to us, as the bread that gives and nourishes that life.
Our daily prayer and reflection in this season helps us deepen our joy and gratitude and helps us integrate it into our lives.

The 2016 Paschal Candle has been beautifully
painted by Lisa Mirabelli, a fellow parishioner.
For the past several years Lisa has been donating
her time and artistic talents to ensure a newly
painted Easter candle. It will take its honored
place next to the ambo for the fifty days of the
Easter Season as it represents the presence of the
Risen Christ in our midst.
The candle will then assume
its place next to the Baptismal
Font and its regular
re-location to the center aisle
of the church to burn before
the casket during funeral
liturgies. Thank you Lisa
for your generous gift!

“IT IS NOT TOO LATE”
Do you wonder if God might be calling you to Religious Life?
The Sisters of St. Joseph are hosting a “Come and See” weekend at their Motherhouse in North Bay, May 6-8, 2016. Spend some leisure time with Sisters, and with God. This is open to all single women between the ages of 20 and 65. Free will offering is gratefully accepted. RSVP by April 29th to Sr. Costanza Romano. Email to [email protected] or call cell at 705-255-0545.
The rest of the world has settled back to normal
after Easter holidays now, but we continue to
dwell on the resurrection of Jesus and the
growth of the Church. Today’s Gospel, which
many people consider the most beautiful of the
resurrection stories, has many themes: the
failed fishing trip, the inability of Peter to
recognise the risen Jesus, the miracle of the 153
fish and the simple, powerful reassuring words
of Jesus to his confused disciples: Come and
have breakfast. We can all find ourselves a
place in this Gospel story, as we continue to
wonder at the resurrection.
Something to Ponder….
What work for the kingdom of God
(the parish, a friend, a community program)
have you felt a desire to do but haven’t yet
done because your net feels empty?
Assume that Jesus is asking you to do it; what
action can you take this week that will toss
your net over the other side of the boat?
Dates and times: Friday, April 15th at 7pm - 9:30 & Saturday, April 16th at 8:30am - 4:30pm Catered hot lunch on Saturday provided by the Knights of Columbus FREE of charge.
For more information or for tickets please visit the website at newevangelization.ca

We, at Holy Redeemer, are very excited to offer afterschool homework assistance to any students requiring one-on-one help in completing homework. We know that in the business of everyday life, it can be very difficult for parents to support their children in completing homework and this can hinder their academic performance. We also know that children benefit greatly from tutoring. Unfortunately, parents cannot always afford such a service and we are committed to providing this extra help FREE of charge. We have several high school students signed up to assist younger students as well as a qualified bilingual teacher present for each session. Our desire is to have our youth gain valuable experience in outreach to the community by sharing their knowledge and skills with younger students. When: Mon., Tues., & Wed. from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Call H.R. at 705-566-8330 for more information.
