Spring time Prayer
For the cycle of life
which brings death
and rebirth, we re-
joice in the promise of
Spring. For longer
days and sunlight’s
warmth, we rejoice in
the promise of Spring.
For all creation and
the majesty of its Crea-
tor, we rejoice in the
promise of Spring.
Amen.
Alleluia, Jesus has risen Alleluia!!
Welcome back everyone! It was won-derful to see the students on Monday.
We are so proud of the students’ hard work and dedication to learning-way to go Holy Cross! We are equally proud of our Junior High students and their hard work to their learning. We are pleased with the students on the Junior High Honor Roll and Plus Five Club. We are continually asking for parental support and involvement; the greatest gifts you can give your child are your love, atten-tion and educational support. Ask them what they learned in school, in the different subject areas, ask them if they have homework, read with them and ask them questions about what was read.
Junior High parents can look on Pow-erschool and see what assignments your child handed in and what they achieved
on assignments, quizzes, etc.
With the warmer weather please send your child with an extra change of clothes and socks as well as splash pants and rubber boots. We encourage all students to stay out of the puddles at recess times but it is hard when there is so much water right now.
Please check out our School
Website: [email protected], we are adding information and pic-tures on a regular basis and it is an excellent communication tool for our school community.
Have a blessed April!
In Christ,
Caroline Richards

HOLY CROSS APRIL 2013 NEWSLETTER PAGE 2
Greetings from School Council
Thank you to everyone who has been able to attend our meetings in the past few months. We are very pleased that as a School Council we have been able to bring awareness to some very im-portant issues this year. Most recently we proposed to the School Board that we would like for them to consider parents opinions on administering the HPV vaccine in our schools. We are very grateful that the Board has considered our proposal and is going ahead with parent meetings at all Catholic schools in the District with the blessing of the Archbishop Pettipas. We encourage all par-ents of the school to attend the meeting at our school on April 18th at 6:30. Our district does hear us as parents and this is the perfect opportunity to tell them what you think about a very important issue. Teacher and Staff Appreciation Lunch is coming up on April 19th. We will be calling parents who have offered to provide food for a potluck lunch for the teachers. We will also be looking for super-visors for the lunch hour so that the teachers can enjoy the food that has been provided for them. If you are not on my list please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail if you would like to help [email protected]. Any extra hands are always welcome. We are very happy to support SOPAR and Habitat for Humanity by paying for the DJ for the family dance. This is a great cause that our children are passionate about and hope to see lots of families attend the dance. All parents are always welcome at our meetings and we always provide free babysitting if needed! We hope to see some new faces at our April meeting!!! Our School Council Meeting will follow the HPV Consultation meeting. Sincerely, Stacey Twerdochlib School Council Co-Chair

Article #8 April 2013
The Seeds of Hope and
Salvation
Happy Easter, Jesus is Risen,
Alleluia! What great news from the
tomb for us. The Jesus of history is
also the Christ of faith. Death no
longer has any power over him, or
us, because of Jesus’s resurrection.
This is great news for us because it
means that we always know, no
matter what we may have done,
whatever wrongs we may have
committed, that Jesus’ love and for-
giveness is stronger and more pow-
erful than any mistakes or failures
we may have made. We only
need to ask and come to him.
This is our great hope and our
great Good News to take to
others. Our call and challenge
is to act and believe that we are
an Easter people. Our seeds of
Good News must reflect that
we believe this great message
and our actions must show that
Jesus is the source and strength
of all that we say and do!
