SCHOOL NEWS K-3 Tim Horton’s Trip On Friday May 24, the K-1 class participated in a field trip to Tim Hortons. Over the past month, the class have been working hard on the development of a Tim Horton's center within the classroom. This dramatic play center has provided students with rich opportunities in drama, writing, and financial literacy. We want to send a very special thank you to Richie and Janice of Tim Hortons Mattawa for allowing us to visit and tour their facility. K-3 Class Learns About Dental Hygiene The K-1 class had a very special visitor from Rex the Dental Dino. Rex joined our class to talk about the importance of brushing and flossing our teeth. After our demonstration, each student was given a brand new toothbrush, floss, and timers to help make oral hygiene fun at home! Thank you to the Nipissing-Parry Sound District Health Unit for letting us borrow Rex for the day! Grandfather Teaching Our June Grandfather Teaching circle will take place on Monday, June 3rd at 2:15 and will focus on Courage. Courage is represented by the bear. The mother bear has the courage and strength to face her fears while protecting her young. The bear also shows us how to live a balanced life with rest, survival and play. Find your inner strength to face the difficulties of life and the courage to be yourself. Make positive choices and face your fears to allow yourself to live your life.
