100 MILERS Hi Villagers. Our 100 Miler board is up and we need to get all the names on the board. Attached is the list of all 100 milers completed by HVAC members that we know of. If you aware of any additional ones, please PM me on 0824554782 within a week. We are going back as far as 2010, but not before. The athlete MUST have been a full HVAC member at the time of the race. Trail, road and track 100 milers all count. The only proviso being that the athlete must have finished the event in the allotted time as stipulated by the organisers of said race

RACE THE LEGENDS – RICHARD ALBERTS
I just wanna tell you guys something....Elizabeth Gallias was unbelievable on Sunday. She’d never before run beyond 42kms but really wanted to try it. We started a bit of a training plan at the beginning of May....was really difficult to pick up the distance and try and get enough mileage in without overdoing things which will almost always result in injuries. She never missed a session and her determination was unlike anything I ever expected. We had agreed that we would have fun on Sunday, while still getting through the miles and greeting friends and family along the way and not stress too much about the time. I didn’t realize she had so many friends. And it was, somehow essential, that she took photos or did cartwheels or a few other crazy things at EVERY stop.
Her actual moving time was 10:25. For anyone who’s run Comrades, you will know that this is absolutely phenomenal. And, when we got over Cowies and I told her to leave me behind, she refused, she held back and we finished all 90 together. The pain of those last 10km is real and she just hung in there with me. I am so impressed with this young athlete who will undoubtedly excel at Comrades 2021. It was a privilege to run alongside this remarkable lady.
