Editorial

Hi everyone ..!

The Santa Bárbara Villagers

magazine was born with the

intention of building a space for

communication and

development of all activities

that we are having in our center.

This publication will retain

freedom of action, openness to

new ideas and views. A 100%

voluntary participation where

the dynamism, creativity and

constant interaction with our

readers is essential.

The Santa Bárbara Villagers is

and always will be an electronic

journal because this structure is

intended to shorten reporting

times, immediately informing of

every event that occurs or is

about to happen in the process

of learning English for any

student. For all these reasons I

encourage all students of Wall

Street Institute - Santa Barbara -

to harness the potential of this

medium.

It is our idea is to introduce a

format suitable for enjoying

digital entertainment with all

the interactive resources and

always committed to be

different and dynamic.

Believing is the word that

inspires us, encourages us and

fills us with optimism. We

believe that learning English is

the key that opens the door to a

better job, social and cultural

opportunities. We believe that

wek have the best English

program in the world and that

all our students have with us the

only way to learn this language

with an entirely different

approach, which guarantees real

and definitive. Results.

Because we believe in you, keep

going ....!

By Daniel Trujillo.

Throughout time, mankind

has been fascinated with what

it sees. The alluring beauty of a

picture enters the mind

through the eyes and it lingers

there for as long as one lives. It

becomes embedded into our

subconscious and it can modify

our behavior without our

noticing it.

It its quest for immortality,

Mankind has devised many

ways to preserve that which it

deems relevant to its history

and its definition. This could be

anything from a complex wall

painting to a simple image, a

memento of a fugacious instant

and a strong feeling.

Thus, from hieroglyphs to

digital pictures, passing

through beautiful printouts,

humans seem to have found a

way to leave their mark on the

canvas of Mankind´s history.

The Magical

Mystery of Images

Page 7: The Santa Bárbara Villagers 1

Present-day photography uses

many resources to record

moments and feelings. Cameras

and lenses alike have evolved

rapidly to supply the increasing

demand for better, faster,

longer-lasting devices and

methods.

This accelerated advance has

placed a powerful camera in the

hand of virtually every human

being living today. With this

advantage, there is no reason

why everyone who wishes to

hold on to a moment cannot do

so with little difficulty.

There is, however, a catch. The

human mind is quite

imaginative. It registers the

minutest details, making more

difficult the preserving process

in technical terms.

But no panic. Anyone with a

camera, no matter its technical

features, can record a good

quality image when the right

measures are taken. This issue of

our magazine shows what our

students can do, when given a

task and provided with a lens.
