ST. MARY’S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL JUNE/JULY, 2015 PAGE 1 President’s Corner This summer the HASA Board has been working hard to make our parent organization more current. From making volunteer hours available on-line to having a monthly newsletter, you will see a lot of changes with our Home and School Association. There will also be a lot of new events this year. So, review the calendar section of the newsletter each month and see what fun things we are planning. All parents are members of HASA. Please make an eort to come to our meetings and help us make plans. Come and be a part of the changes! -Betsy Woolever HASA President HASA NEWS Volunteer Hours On-line This year the school will be implementing a new volunteer tracking and notification program. The hope of this new program is to share volunteer opportunities with families in a more effective and meaningful way. By doing so, we hope to get more families involved in the building of our school community. One of the benefits of this new program is the ability to find volunteer opportunities and enter your hours worked online. You will still be able to enter them in the Volunteer Book located in the office, if you so choose. At this time, we are asking that all families go online and register for your volunteer account. If you do have problems, please contact us at SaintMaryHASAVolunteer @gmail.com or call Amy Baars, Volunteer Coordinator, at 906-259-1190. To fill out the new volunteer registration form, please go to the following link: https://goo.gl/bU9vTy Important: If you use the same email address for more than one person (ie: husband and wife), we can only use the first occurrence we find of that email address. If you would like to have individual access to your information, you will need to use separate email addresses. NEW BOARD POSITIONS- VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR AND COMMITTEE CHAIR We have added a few new positions to our HASA board to help make volunteering for our school easier. Amy Baars will be our Volunteer Coordinator. She has been working really hard to get our volunteer program on- line. This will really make access to volunteer information so much easier! Anne Ohman will be our Committee Chair. Her role will be to ensure that when you volunteer for something, you will be pointed in the right direction on how to get the job done. These two new positions will really be an asset to our Parents Organization. Thank you for taking on these new rolls, Amy and Anne!!
