Dear Summit Delegate: Welcome to Amelia Island and the 47th SIG Global Executive Summit. I hope your travels were uneventful and you arrived well rested because we have an amazing week of events and sessions for you and you won’t want to miss a single thing. I’m especially excited to welcome you to Amelia Island, because this is my home. I hope you will love it as much as I do!

The purpose of this Summit guide is to help you plan your calendar for the week. Note that next to every title is a lifecycle description of the session. Please make sure you choose your sessions based on the phase of the lifecycle in which you are most interested. In an effort to be more green, this information was created in a more condensed format. If you’d like more detailed information about each session, including the abstract, learning points, full presentation and speaker bios, we invite you to download our SIG event app to your smart device and/or access the information from our website at www.sig.org/summits.php.

Rest assured that we have built time into our agenda to relax and recharge, including meditation in the morning (something I have just learned to embrace), beach runs and nature walks. Take the time to enjoy these things so your mind and body are fully present when you are in the sessions. Many of you know that we always have great surprise entertainment on Wednesday night, so don’t stay in your room and have room service or you’ll wonder what the buzz is all about the next day! On that note, each time you leave your room, make sure to bring plenty of business cards so you can continue to build your professional network. The Summit is as much a networking experience as it is a learning opportunity—make sure you take advantage of all that it offers in both!

On behalf of the SIG team, I wish you an informative and enjoyable few days at the SIG Summit. Welcome again to beautiful Amelia Island.

Truly,

Dawn Tiura Evans President and CEO, SIG

7:30 Breakfast & 8:00 Keynote SessionAdding Meaning to Your Mission: Improving Results While Making the World a Better Place

Business organizations influence attitudes and economic circumstances throughout our globalized, connected world. Business cannot stand apart from society; it must be a key participant playing a vital role. As a consequence, business leadership must serve the financial interest of its shareholders plus the greater community of stakeholders. The standard of ethical behavior should be higher than mere compliance with the law. This session will share how the combination of Mission and Meaning improves performance and accelerates positive change for both business and society.

7:30 Breakfast & 8:00 Keynote SessionThe Source Of Value: Research-Based Insights Into How Procurement Drives Value

What is the source of procurement’s value to the enterprise? How do organizations become more effective in achieving sustainable cost savings? How can procurement deliver greater value? These questions are essential to the continuous improvement of the procurement function. They are also the questions at the foundation of the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) Chief Procurement Officers (CPO) Study, which examines the specific procurement strategies that drive business results and bottom-line impact. The study, based on a survey of more than 1,000 procurement executives across more than 40 countries, takes a deep dive look at “procurement role models,” companies that achieved the most impressive revenue and profit performance.

Procurement Maturity Assessment Benchmarking: Round One Report-Out and Round Two Study Development Cumberland A & B Do you ever wonder how your organization would compare to others? In the world? The nation? Your industry? Do you know what or how you would even measure? In late 2014, SIG and Oliver Wyman completed a major study benchmarking the maturity of participating SIG members’ procurement organizations. The results have been compiled. In this two-part session, we will discuss the assessment results as well as formulate the factors for the next round of the study. Do not miss this opportunity to measure your organization’s procurement maturity and make your vital input on what to measure in the round two study.
