IT Professionals Operations Field Workers Citizen Engagement Marketing Mobile GIS Lighting Up The Enterprise Executives Project Management Conference Theme - GIS – Lighting Up the Enterprise Lighting up the enterprise to the power of GIS isn't just about the technology. It's going to require a shared vision, empowering people with ready to use maps, delivering engaging apps and creating a culture of sharing and collaboration. It’s going to require creative people like yourselves and your colleagues to bring this together. Think about all the ways that GIS can help to improve services to your customers – does your customer service department know they have access to the right information in real-time? Has your marketing department got to grips with Story Maps as a powerful form of content to share on the website and social media? Do the business analysts have access to a wide variety of data sets from a trusted source to help them visualise, analyse and optimise operations? Are your field workers capturing and updating information in the field, saving them time and increasing efficiency? That’s where you come in. Submit a paper for the Esri UK 2016 Annual Conference and tell us who is using GIS across your organisation and what benefits it is delivering to your organisation, customers, partners and citizens.

Innovation in GIS

There will be 7 tracks at the 2016 Annual conference and each track will break down into 6 x 20 minute sessions. Presentations from Esri customers and partners will bring the platform to life with every day scenarios of how GIS is being used across the enterprise. Presentations must align to one of the track themes but organisations can submit different presentations into multiple tracks. It’s not just about the technology – tell us who is using GIS, which department and what benefits are they realising. For example, are they using GIS to manage and maintain assets, deliver improved customers service or increase the efficiency of public services saving time and money. Lighting Up The Enterprise – enterprise wide use of GIS demonstrating collaboration and innovation Be Organised - a secure and scalable platform to organise all your content in one place - maps, apps and data Gain Insight - analyse information and make the right decision first time – visualise, analyse, optimise Share It - publish maps and collaborate - across the enterprise, with the public or common operating platform Get Real - take action on the move with real-time updates - collector, real-time data and mobile working Developers – insights on how the UK developer community make the most of location and the ArcGIS Platform Education – presentations from schools and universities on how they are using GIS in research projects

Track 1 – Lighting Up The Enterprise

Track 1 – Lighting Up the Enterprise This is main stage and the presentations need to bring to life ground breaking GIS innovation that demonstrates how GIS is being used in multiple departments across the enterprise. Sharing information both internally and externally with mobile workers, citizens and customers; helping people to understand our world and design a smarter future. Presentations should preferably encompass all elements of the platform to include a central source of multiple data layers, used by a wide variety of people to analyse information to gain new insights and make decisions. The ability to demonstrate how information is made widely available both internally and externally on the website, social media or on mobile devices to build a collaborative, connected and efficient working environment. .

Track 2 - Be Organised Having a trusted source of geographical information is critical to many organisations. Esri’s ArcGIS platform provides users with a complete set of tools that give flexibility to store, edit, manage and analyse data to provide a central repository of information for the enterprise. The ArcGIS platform also facilitates the enrichment of an organisation’s existing information with authoritative ready-to-use content such as basemaps, imagery, landscape and demographic data. Presentations in this track should demonstrate the innovative use of content or ways in which organisations have leveraged data management capabilities to improve workflows or business processes and/or to reveal new insights. Relevant topics might include the use of 3D and remote sensing; BIM and asset management; big data and data monetisation; sharing and leveraging open data; mobile and/or customer analytics.

Data Exploration

Track 3 – Gain Insight Spatial analysis is how we understand our world—mapping where things are, how they relate, what it all means, and what actions to take. Presentations in this track will demonstrate how ArcGIS is used to analyse complex business issues to gain new insights and make more informed decisions. From analysis of geographic patterns to predictive modelling we are keen to hear about innovative and inspiring uses of ArcGIS, including both 2D and 3D. Presentations should outline the type of analysis undertaken and how this is driving real business benefit be that site selection, route optimisation, better management of assets, improvement in customer service, increased operational efficiency or more sustainable practices.

Applying GIS Everywhere

Track 4 – Share It

Track 4 – Share It ArcGIS helps you organise and share information throughout your organization and beyond using a combination of maps, apps and templates. It provides a framework for collaboration allowing organisations to make better decisions and engage with the public and partner organisations. This track will focus on how geographic information can be shared across the Enterprise to drive new insight, collaboration and better decision making. Presentations in this track will demonstrate how ArcGIS is extending the reach of the platform into new departments and onto multiple platforms including web browsers, smartphones, tablets, and the desktop. Presentations should demonstrate what information is being shared and how this is delivering value across the customer’s organisation and beyond.

Track 5 – Get Real The ArcGIS Platform allows organisations to put mapping in the hands of their field-based work force to help improve field operations and make more informed business decisions. Presentations in this track will demonstrate the power of mobile GIS and showcase the ability to send and receive real-time data so that mobile workers can operate more efficiently and access the latest information. Presentations should demonstrate how Mobile GIS delivers more efficient ways of working that not only save time and reduce costs but ultimately deliver better customer service and more efficient operations.

Track 6 - Developers

Track 6 – Developers For this track we are inviting talks which will provide the UK developer community with insights on how to make the most of location and the ArcGIS Platform. We are looking to show examples of innovative apps, code overviews and how best practices were implemented in projects. Talks may also explain how the tools were combined with other popular frameworks or technologies, alongside any issues overcome. Of particular interest are presentations which foster discussion and intrigue from other members of the community.
