is sufficient to return the magnet to a zero positions Graduations on the micrometer drum are noted during an observation.

At every station it is necessary to level the tripod- mounted instrument and orient it in a constant direction to minimize the effects of improper levelling,

SURVEY METHOD:

All of the instrument readings were .obtained along cut, and measured picket lines, spaced LOO feet apart and striking at li, 5 degrees. Individual stations were taken at one hundred footintervals along the grid lines,. The base line was surveyed to aid in the calculation of diurnal drift,

The datum was organized such that the readings were con verted from scale divisions togammasand then plotted on the grid system. Calculations of diurnal drift were computed before final plotting of the magnetic values, Due to the low magnetic suscepti bility, a contour interval of fifty gammas was chosen^ and then thenplotted datum was contoured to establish a magnetic trend,

.Results of the Survey;

The survey reveals a magnetic relief of approximately one hundred gammas across the property, A slight magnetic low in the northeast portion of the group is interpreted to be a zone of rhyolite* This interpretation agrees with the Ontario Department of Mines compilation which suggests the presence of the Buskegau. River Fault in this area. The second, subsidiary fault shown by the ODM compilation cannot be depicted from this survey.

Most of the magnetic trends across the property are northwesterly, probably a result of the fault zone* Thus, the survey shows a zone of andesitic volcanics in contact with rhyolitic volcanics along the Buskegau River Fault*

Conclusions;

The geomagnetic survey conducted provides the basic geologic information which can usually be derived from this type

of survey. Ground electromagnetic work and diamond drilling will aid in final assessment of the property*
