National Service Scheme (NSS) was Launched in 1969 in Mahatma
Gandhi’s Birth Centenary Year with an aim to give an extension
dimension to the Higher Education System and orient the student youth
to community service while they are studying in Educational
Institutions.
The ultimate goal of NSS is Personality Development of the Student
Youth through Community Service.
The Motto of NSS is “Not Me, But You” reflects the essence of
democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. NSS helps
the students develop appreciation to other person’s point of view and
also show consideration to other living beings. The philosophy of the
NSS is well doctrine in this motto, which underlines on the belief that
the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the
society on the whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for
the well-being of the society.

Celebration of Independent day & Republic Day by Performing Parade
every year
Blood Donation Camp
NSS Unit of GEC Valsad organizes Blood Donation camp every year
Campus Cleaning
As per the NSS instructions and Guidelines NSS unit of GECV
campaign task of campus cleaning every year
Tree Plantation
After celebrating Independence Day, Institute’s faculties and students
have done tree plantation in the college campus. Total 50 plants were
planted on that day.
Swachh Pakhwada Celebrations at GECV
NSS Unit celebrates Swachh Pakhwada every year during September.
The program involves various activities like pledge on swachchh bharat
abhiyan,Campus cleaning, Tithal Beach cleaning. Swachchhta
awareness rally.
7-Day Special Camp
NSS unit of GECV organizes 7-Day Special Camp every year. Over 50
volunteers participate in camp which is followed by some social
activities such as rally and a household survey under the theme “The
Camp Youth for Swachh Bharat”. Collection of various data regarding
various socio-economic factors, including family hygiene and sanitation.
Awareness of the various Government skims etc.
