    FSEAdvanced Simulation Software Suite

FSE is an Advanced Simulation Software Suite that was

developed by M-Tech Industrial (Pty) Ltd, together with Samahnzi

through the Innovation Fund, a business unit of the Department

of Science and Technology of South Africa.

FSE is a powerful, integrated software platform which enables

engineers to develop High Fidelity, Full-scope Power and

Process plant Simulators quicker than ever before. It sports a

modern, intuitive graphical user-interface which makes it exciting

to develop, analyze and train on.

FSE sports a totally open, customizable architecture.

The following high delity, congurable solvers and libraries are

    by default included in FSE:

    Multi-Phase Flow with Incondensable Gases

Consists of more than 50 high-delity, congurable thermal-uid

simulation components including basic and advanced Pipes,

Valves, Tanks, Turbines, Pumps, Compressors, Fans, Reactors,

Heat Exchangers and complex Heat Transfer components.

Using any Microsoft .NET capable programming language,

engineers can easily develop and integrate their own solvers,

libraries, schedulers or even conrol all simulator functionality

    from an external application.

The power of FSE comes from embracing the latest software

technologies and engineering strategies. This not only enables

quicker development of Full-scope Plant Simulators, but also

delivers higher accuracy, which truly allows engineering analysis

and operator training on the same simulation platform, at no

    extra cost.

FSE includes full instructor and trainee assessment functionality,

allowing Power and Process Plant Instructors to develop

complex scenarios to train and evaluate learners.

    Electrical Networks:

Includes all components necessary to simulate a complete electrical network for a Full-scope Plant Simulator, such as basic and advanced

models for Motors, Generator, Exciters, Buses, Breakers, Isolators, Resistive Loads, Innite Grid etc.

    Distributed Control Systems

FSE contains a comprehensive DCS library capable of simulating an entire Power/Process Plants Control System (including Boiler,

Turbine and Generator Control and Protection) according to a prescribed control philosophy.

    Human System Interface:

FSE contains all necessary functions and components to replicate or connect to a 3rd party HMI/SCADA. This includes connecting to

an Emulator or actual HMI System supplied by the Control System OEM (e.g. Siemens, ABB, Emerson, GE, etc.). The Simulator HMI will

therefore accurately reect the look-and-feel of the actual Plant Control Interface.

    Mechanical:

Includes Shafts, Thrust and Journal Bearings, Barring Gear, Heat Leaks, Expander Components, etc.

    Furnace:

Used to simulate Drum Boilers, Once-through/Benson Boilers (Sub- and Supercritical), Circulating Fluidised Bed Boilers, including

components like Combustion/Fire, Gas Burners, Oil Burners, Coal Burners, Pyrometers etc.

    Mill/Pulveriser:

Includes Vertical Spindle and Tubular Ball Type Mill models, as well as the capability to add custom Mill models.

    Actuators:

Includes analog and digital Motorized, Fluid, Solenoid,

various I to P, Manual etc.

    Transmitters:

Includes more than 20 types of Switch and Transmitter

Models for pressure, temperature, speed, level, ow, voltage,

    current etc.

    Nuclear:

Includes models for Pressurized Water Reactor, High

    Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor, etc.
