• Directives 96/92 CE (electric energy) and 98/39/CE (natural gas) ;

• 1998: the roles of regions increases as some competences are transferred from the central government to the regions;

• Renewables:• 2008-2012 = boom of PV energy;• 2012: nes scheme for incentives on renewables.

Assessment of the REMPDevelopment of measures in the medium term for both energy demand and supply aimed at curbing regional greenhouse emissions and establish guidelines for governing those initiatives in the region.

The methodology:

- Phase 1: analysis of energy demand and supply;

- Phase 2: study of the main actions to be developed in the medium- term to reduce primary energy consumption and increase the energy production from renewable sources;

- Phase 3: mid-term scenario definition.
