Sean Connery
Thomas Sean Connery was born on August 25, 1930 in Fountain
Bridge,
Edinburgh, Scotland. His mother, Euphamia C. Maclean, was a
cleaning
lady, and his father, Joseph Connery, was a factory worker and
truck driver.
He also has a brother named Neil Connery.
Before going into acting, Sean had many different jobs, such as
a milkman,lorry driver, a labourer, artist's model for the
Edinburgh College of Art, coffinpolisher and bodybuilder. He also
joined the Royal Navy, but left becauseof medical problems. At the
age of 23, he had a choice between becominga professional
footballer or an actor, and even though he showed muchpromise in
the sport, he chose acting and said it was one of his
moreintelligent moves.
Sean Connery found fame and fortune as the suave, sophisticated
British agent, James Bond. After six Bond films,
Connery separated from the Bond image, and eventually won an
Oscar as veteran Chicago cop, Jimmy Malone, in The
Untouchables .
Connery continues to be at his best when he plays serious
characters. His great fame came after and during the successof the
Bond-films. He has maintained a successful career as an actor and
first appeared in films in 1962 with the role ofsecret agent James
Bond. He wore a toupee in all the James Bond movies. He started
losing his hair at the age of 21.Privately and in most other
movies, he didn`t wear it any more..Sean married actress Diane
Cilento in 1962 and they had a son, Jason Connery. He followed in
his father's footsteps and
also became an actor. The marriage ended in divorce in 1973. In
1975 he married Micheline Roquebrune and they are still
married today, they have no children together. He is also a
grandfather. His son, Jason and his ex-wife, actress Mia Sara
had a son, Dashiell Connery.
Ranked 14 in Empire (UK) magazine's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of
All Time" list. In 1953, he entered the Mr. Universecontest,
finishing third in the tall man's division. He was voted People
magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989.
He has two small tattoos on his right arm. One says "Scotland
forever", the other "Mum and Dad." He got them when heenlisted in
the Royal Navy at the age of 16. He went to live in Marbella,
Spain, near a golf course where he played dailywhen not filming,
but because of problems with the local press, now resides in the
Bahamas where he plays golf much lessfrequently.
