Objective & Abstract

Navigate the boulevards of Boston and enjoy the sights of the various cultures, land-marks, facilities, and people around you on your track from Home of the Leopards’ Wen-tworth Institute of Technology to the Prudential Center. Once you reach your destination, this descriptive instruction manual will guide you through the dazzling shops and the epitome and the main attractions—the Prudential Tower and Duck Tours. Don’t forget to fill up and bring your wallet.

Safety Precautions! • Do not walk in front of a moving fire truck that is leaving the fire station driveway! • Look both ways before crossing a railroad! • Don’t run right in front of a T! • Use a crosswalk when crossing a busy street! • Use the sidewalk when walking down the street! • Walk across a busy street only when a walking signal flashes or if the traffic light is green in the direction that you’re walking in! • Look for food logos/names if a feeling of hunger or dehydration evolves on the way!

Chang's China Bistro, Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora. Transportation

Subway: MFA T- Stop going Inbound (usually it’s the E Green Line.) Bus: Get on Bus 39 from the Museum of Fine Arts and get off at the Prudential Center Stop.

Step 4: Keep going down the

sidewalk, you will pass Rodgers and Edwards Halls. Ken lives in Edwards, wave when you go by.

Step 2: Head straight down sidewalk

between fence and trees like in figure 2.

Step 1: Begin at the Wentworth

Leopard ,figure 1, facing Huntington Avenue, head towards road, but stop before the road. Stay on the sidewalk; take a 90° to the right

Step 3: You will pass the

Wentworth sign on the fence; this should be on your right. Keep going until you hit the driveway, look both ways, cross when safe, and step onto side walk on the other side.

Step 7: As you reach the sidewalk you will

notice Sweeney Field on the right. This is Wentworth’s sports field

…Fire trucks are constantly being called out, and you don’t want to get hit. Check out figure 6.

Step 5: All the action is on the right side of the

road, if you take a look to the left you would see the road, T-Tracks, more road and the Triple 5 Dorms. Now you will be walking by the Engine 37, Ladder 26

fire station. Careful when walking by…

Step 6: At the Ruggles Street and

Huntington Avenue intersection, stop at the end of sidewalk, wait for walk signal, and carefully cross the road to the opposite sidewalk, staying on the right side of Huntington Avenue heading towards Northeastern.

Step 10 : As your walking

down the sidewalk take a look at the MFA, the Museum of Fine Arts, in front of the building is this statue seen in figure 12 with Ken. Be careful of cars in the MFA turnaround on both sides of the statue.

Step 8: Walk just a little bit

further along the sidewalk between Sweeney Field and Huntington Avenue.

Step 9: When you see

the crosswalk for the T in front of Sweeney Field, turn 90° left, look carefully, check both ways and safely cross the road to the train tracks. Keep a look out for the trains coming from the left and right while crossing, and then safely cross the road to get to the left side of Huntington Avenue and hop back on the sidewalk. Take a 90° turn right.

Step 14 : Once outside

Qdoba make sure to take a left out the door to keep heading in the same direction. Be careful on the crosswalk that pops up quickly after you leave Qdoba

Step 12 : If you have any questions check out the

information maps posted on signs standing in the sidewalk.

Step 11 : For now

not much is going on, your going to stay on the sidewalk, still heading in the same direction, for now you will cross two more sidewalks, make sure to follow crosswalk safety instructions.

Step 13 : If you’re hungry in

your travels, stop in to Qdoba Mexican Grill for a burrito and a soda. The restaurant will be on your left.

Step 17 : Other stops you’ll see is BHOP, Connor Larkins Grill and Tap, and Temptations….as well as …

…Huntington Wine and Spirit, shown in figure 21 with Betsy showing you their Red Sox World Championship sign, YAY SOX!

Step 15 : As your heading

down the sidewalk you’ll notice that other school on the left, also known as Northeastern University. Here Betsy and Vinnie hang out on a bench. Shortly after there will be another crosswalk at Opera Plaza.

Step 16 : Ken needed to stop for a tan at Campus Tan

which is on the left side near Burger King on your way to the Prudential building. You’ll also notice Army ROTC next to Campus Tan.

Step 20 : Once you’ve finished

hiding behind pillars feel free to move on. Cross the road next to the Symphony T entrance towards the Do Not Enter sign.

Step 18 : If none of the

other places have interested you along the way, there is still a Burger King in figure 22, a tailor, Bank of America…

…and Dunkin Donuts (see figure 23).

Step 19 : If you make it past

all these attractions you will see the Boston Symphony, as well as the stairs and pillar outside which make an interesting playground.

Step 22 : Step up onto the path next to the reflection pool, like Emily did in figure

30, just don’t fall in… ….Maybe invite some friends to join you. You’ll also see the First Church of Christ Scientist surrounding the Reflection Pool.

Step 21 : Cross at Parking Garage

driveway, for a little detour have some fun at the trees….or take a left at the first row of trees and go towards the reflection pool.

Step 24 : You can be like Betsy and

Ken and play in the fountain that is between the Reflection Pool and the Prudential Center.

Step 23 : Follow the path, you should be able to see the Prudential Center

from here, but you can also see 6 sets of 4 poles with lights that run alongside the reflection pool, Vinnie found them to be entertaining.

Step 28 : head upstairs….

Step 26 : Take the crosswalk

to cross Belvedere Street, be careful of cars, and go when the light says to cross. Head towards the doors of the Prudential Center.

Step 25 : Now that you have had plenty of detours,

lets get to the Prudential Center. From the fountain go left, and go between the trees and the First Church of Christ, Scientist Administration building, and on the third row of trees take a left, you should see the Prudential.

Step 27 : Push open the turning door, head inside and….

Edwards and Rodgers Halls: Two of the dormitories located on the Wentworth campus. First Church of Christ Scientist: Christian Science Church, Boston Ma. This is the mother church or main headquarters for the church that was founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879. She wrote a book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Museum of Fine Arts: One of the art Museums located in Boston, highlighting the Fine Arts. Prudential Center: A shopping center of higher end stores in Boston, Ma Sweeney Field: The field owned by Wentworth used for various sports such as soccer, and rugby. T (Green Line): The train running through Boston as a choice of transportation. Wentworth Institute of Technology: (May be referred to as Wentworth) A technology university on Huntington Avenue, Boston, Ma. The school is known for such majors as Architecture, Engineering, and Management.
