mr. delgado, principalHello Franklin Families. It is true an honor serving you and yourchild as your school principal. For our �fth year, I would like toensure that all our families have a voice and we hear from youoften; this is very important to me, that way we can worktogether towards our common goal, your child success.As all of you know, my biggest priority is always our studentssafety, and this is why we are constantly reviewing our safetyprotocols and emergency response procedures. I also provide strategic direction in the school system,developing standardized curricula, assessing teaching methods, monitoring our students'achievement, encouraging parent involvement, revising policies and procedures, administeringthe budget, hiring and evaluating staff and overseeing our facilities. I will always be here for anything you need to guarantee our student's success.

mr. turano, assistant principalMy name is Giuseppe Turano and I am one of the AssistantPrincipals here at Franklin Academy Sunrise Campus. Mybackground is in Elementary and Middle Education with anemphasis on Instructional Leadership. I am a South Floridanative, and proud father of three young children. I'm sure myenergetic personality and family oriented life will shine throughmy work as I serve this community.As a new member of the Franklin Family, I am so grateful andexited to be part of such an amazing school. The success ofthis young campus are a true testament of dedicated staff and outstanding students. A sign ofgreat things still to come. Some of my many roles here at Franklin include overseeing theParent Teacher Organization, Events Coordinator, and Response To Intervention among others.I look forward to being a positive role model and support for the students, staff, andcommunity.
In addition, I am the administrator in charge of school widescheduling each student K-8th in each course/subject. mrs. ockman, director of schooloperationsI have been married for twenty years to my husband and havetwo children, 13 and 17 years old. I’ve worked as a campdirector, afterschool director, Guidance Counselor and Dean ofStudents for 25 years. I joined Franklin Academy in 2016. Asthe Director of School Operations, I am the administrator whooversees the “non-academic” side of our operations.I work alongside of our Principal and two Assistant Principalsto ensure our facilities and day to day operations run smoothly.

mrs. mauro, special programs coordinator
I oversee arrival and dismissal, duty schedules, and work withthe contracted bus company. I work directly with all vendorsand contractors who maintain our building and make sure allinspections are completed annually. I coordinate the �eld trips,clubs, picture days, and logistics for all event set ups. I amprivileged to work with the nurse and the Sunrise Policedepartment for our safety plan with our SRO (School resourceO�cer). Another part of my responsibilities is to coordinateVolunteers and manage the Service Hour process. I feelextremely honored to work with our amazing students andfamilies. I am looking forward to a great year!
mrs. delgado, curriculum specialistAs the curriculum specialist in Franklin Academy I overseeassessments, instructional technology, and unit plans.Throughout the school year I organize the iReady diagnostic,kindergarten screenings, and review student data quarterly withteachers. I also create user accounts for teachers andstudents for all our digital content. This allows teachers tointegrate technology in the classroom as well as permits thestudents to access their curriculum at home. In addition to mycurriculum responsibilities, I run Sibling Link every afternoon inthe cafeteria.
My name is Mrs. Mauro and I am the Special programscoordinator here at Franklin. Our special programs include ESE,ESOL, RtI, and Gifted. I work with families in the evaluationprocess, Gifted and IEP meetings, and I support students andstaff with the RtI process. mrs. turay, guidance counselorHello Franklin Family,My name is Eileen Turay, and I am one of your SchoolCounselors. I have a Masters in Counselor Education with aschool specialization. I live right here in our community withmy husband and two daughters. I wear many hats, but for youand your family, I am here for you in all things academic,social/emotional, and career. What I tell the students is that “Iam a helper,” and they can come talk to me any time. Someadditional roles I possess are the Homeless Education andFoster Liaison, HUDL Program coordinator, outside referralcoordinator, and RTI team member. My counterpart and I arealso members of the crisis team, and together coordinateParent Academies, School-wide Drives, and our positivebehavior support program.
ms. stephens, esol coordinatorI’m Ms. Stephens the ESOL Coordinator at our school. ESOLstands for English Speakers of Other Languages and I work withour staff members to ensure that our ESOL students arereceiving the help that they need in and out of the classroom. Iam in charge of testing new students that come to our schoolfor English language pro�ciency as well as WIDA Access 2.0testing which monitors progress of our ESOL students. I amalso a part of the dismissal team helping with �rst dismissalstacking cars. I am here to support our families in the best waythat I can and I look forward to a great school year!

RtI stands for Response toIntervention and it is designed to reach struggling students(academically and behaviorally) in the classroom.
