Federal Bureaucracy Jeopardy

This system of patronage involves the firing of administrative

personnel not loyal to the new president’s party to reward those

who assisted in the president’s election.

Spoils System

Established to address unfair business practices like price fixing, this independent regulatory commission was the first of its kind.

Interstate Commerce Commission(post Civil War)

The Department of Agriculture was established to assist in the efficient

distribution of food during this major event.

The Civil War

The Progressive Republican President established the

Department of Commerce and Labor to address

employer/employee issues.

Theodore Roosevelt

To provide opportunities to newly returning veterans to enter college and buy homes this legislation was

passed at the end of WWII.

The GI Bill

Under the Department of Commerce, this independent

practices and approves corporate mergers
