Kirby Smith called the meeting to order at 10:40 a.m.

Minutes Approval:

January 17, 2015 Regular Board Meeting Minutes were ap-

proved.

Floor Comments:

A “Thank You” was given to the Board for the doggie stations

placed throughout Surfside, that they are making a big differ-

ence in the amount of waste left on the grounds.

The motion passed for the Business Manager to forward on the

standardized commercial water agreements.

New Business:

Resolution #2015-02-01-to replace Financial Administrator job description with

Bookkeeper job description was adopted.

Operations Manual proposed amendment to disposal of refuse policy was adopted.

Resolution #2015-02-02- Approving procurement of pressure transducers was adopt-

ed.

Water Department budgeted computer purchases were approved.

Resolution #2015-02-03- awarding MIP 2015 materials purchase to HD Supply Wa-

terworks was adopted.

Motion to activate the Fishing Derby Committee naming Karen Gove as Chairper-

son passed.

Staff & Committee Reports :

Verbal reports were received from Larry Amundson of the Nominating Committee and

Gary Williams of the Fish & Waterways Committee; Larry said that there will be three

Trustee openings this year. If you’re interested in running for the Board, either pick up a

candidate’s packet in the business office or download one from the website. Gary Wil-

liams reported that after further review the Committee has decided against doing the

“Town Hall meeting” on April 4, 2015 and the “canal cleanup”. It’s been researched and

found that the majority of the problems along the canal are from Alder trees which get

overgrown very quickly. More info regarding Alders later. All Staff & Committee Re-

ports were approved as submitted.

Adjourn to Closed Session: 11:48 a.m. to discuss legal matters.

Reconvene from Closed Session: 11:55 a.m.

A motion was passed to not purchase the property for sale on I street.

Adjourn Regular Board Meeting: 12:10 p.m.

The following are the calls I handled for the week of February 19th to February 25th, 2015.

For the week I gave 5 traffic warnings.

On 02/21 I was dispatched the 33100 block of I Street for a noise complaint. The reporting par-

ty stated he could hear gunshots and had never heard them before. I drove around the area and

the shooting was coming from outside of Surfside off of Q Place.

On 02/21 I observed a subject in the 29600 block of H Street that I knew to have a warrant. By

the time I got turned around he had taken off on foot and I could not locate him. The suspect

later called in to dispatch wanting me to call him. I called him and he stated he knew he had

the warrant and would have it taken care of by this week.

On 02/23 there was an audible alarm in the 30800 block of N Place. The residence was secure

and it was a false alarm.

SLOW DOWN!! 25 MPH in all Surfside areas other than I Street north of the mini mall!

Must possess advanced knowledge of accounting principles and methods with a minimum

of 5 years’ experience in an accounting/bookkeeping job classification.

A College degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Finance) is preferred, demon-

strate computer literacy in word processing, databases, spread sheets and accounting pro-

grams.

Starting pay rate $18.00 per hour.

1. The compactor attendant will direct disposal of refuse for compactor and recycling.

2. Entry passes are issued each year at the Surfside Homeowners Association business

office to members who have paid their yearly dues and assessments. One pass

maximum for each membership. Compactor attendant will CHECK membership pass.

Pass must be shown; only authorized members & guests may leave refuse at compactor site.

3. Member/Guest is responsible for placing refuse in compactor and recycling areas as directed

by the attendant. Any refuse spills MUST be cleaned up by the member/guest responsible.

4. Compactor attendant will direct vehicles to move out promptly after refuse has been

unloaded.

5. Recycling is encouraged but not mandatory. Surfside Homeowners Association urges all to

recycle all material possible. We accept newspaper, glass by color, plastic, magazines and

aluminum & tin cans.

6. For compactor sanitation and to help eliminate offensive odor, all wet kitchen garbage must

be deposited in waterproof bags. Limit the disposal to the equivalent of no more than two

(2) 45 gallon bags to a trip.

NOT ACCEPTED: Appliances, carpet, carpet pad, televisions, furniture, sofas, mattress/box

spring or grass clippings.

Architectural Committee

Just a reminder if you are planning on installing a fence or a shed, a garage or a

house or even doing a little remodeling all building plans must be submitted to

the Architectural Committee prior to any construction.

The committee usually meets weekly on Tuesdays at 9 a.m., dependent upon if

there’s anything on the agenda. All applicants are encouraged to attend the

meeting (if possible) to answer any questions that may arise.

Two (2) sets of plans must be submitted to the committee. Once approved, you

will get a copy of the plans that have been stamped so you can take to the county

for their approval.

OPEN AUDITIONS Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition March 14 - 15, 2015 | 2:00 - 4:30 PM

It’s that magical time of year, the Peninsula Association of Performing Artists (PAPA) invites you to the Open Auditions for Cinderella: The Enchanted Edition. Come be apart of the stage production as we recreate the magic and hope that is the

essence of a story that continues to capture the hearts of audiences around the world again and again.

All ages welcome are welcome to audition. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Clam Digs

WDFW approves razor clam dig starting March 2

OLYMPIA - Clam diggers can return to two coastal beaches Monday (March 2)

through Thursday (March 5) to dig razor clams during a month packed with

potential digging opportunities.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the dig at

Long Beach and Twin Harbors after marine toxin tests showed the clams are

safe to eat.

As in previous openings, the dig is scheduled on evening tides. No digging will

be allowed on any beach before noon.

Under state law, diggers are required to keep the first 15 clams they dig. Each

digger's clams must be kept in a separate container.

The four-day dig is scheduled for the following dates, beaches and low tides:

March 2, Monday, 4:46 p.m.; 0.5 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors

March 3, Tuesday, 5:26 p.m.; 0.4 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors

March 4, Wednesday, 5:59 p.m.; 0.4 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors

March 5, Thursday; 6:30 p.m., 0.5 feet, Long Beach, Twin Harbors

newer club and would like to have a mix of new hams who wish to

learn and experienced hams that are willing to share their knowledge.

We would like our club activities to be fun, promote a continuation of
