The Hare and the Tortoise

Made by Alizée BOURGEOIS and Mariana JULIAO

Don't bet against bigger than you, or you'll lose a few feathers. To such

Truth witness is given by the Tortoise and the Hare.

"Let’s bet," the former once said, "that you won’t touch

That line before I do." "So quick? Are you all there,

Neighbor?" said the rapid beast.

"You need a purge: four grains at least

Of hellebore, you’re now so far gone."

"All there or not, the bet’s still on."

So it was done; the wagers of the two

Were placed at the finish, in view.

It didn’t matter what was down at stake,

Nor who was the judge that they got.

Our Hare had, at the most, four steps or so to take.

I mean the kind he takes when, on the verge of being caught,

He outruns dogs sent to the calends for their pains,

Making them run all over the plains.

Having, I say, time to spare, sleep, browse around,

Listen to where the wind was bound,

He let the Tortoise leave the leading place

In stately steps, wide-spaced.

Straining, she commenced the race:

Going slow was how she made haste.

He, meanwhile, thought such a derogatory victory,

Judged the bet to be devoid of glory,

Believed his honor was all based

On leaving late. He browsed, lolling like a king,

Amused himself with everything

But the bet. When at last he took a look,

Saw that she’d almost arrived at the end of the race,

He knew that even the speed of a horse

Will be in vain; so, he jumped into his bright red Ferrari,

And cross the finish line on time, projecting the poor Tortoise against a tree

The Hare lowed the car's window and cried out to her :

"Well, now! Did you believe that your cunning could fool me?

But we are in the 21st century,

And I know this fable which talks about a tortoise faster

Than a hare. Nowadays, that time is over."

Don't bet against bigger than you, or you'll lose a few feathers

THE LION BECOME OLD

The lion, terror of the forest, lay, Laden with years, and lingering away,

Mourning the memory of his strength now flown, Attacked at last by subjects of his own ;

Bold as he drooped, strong in his weakness grown. The horse approached, to kick him as he died,

Then the lion roared so strong that it shook the forest.

Fear, terror invaded a herd of buffalo that began near a load in his direction.

Their frenzy caused an earthquake and a great cloud of dust that dragged behind.

In panic, the lion began to roar again, so hard that he dropped a part of the cliff, taking him into the river.

The current was strong. Already very tired, he could not do anything in the water that took him quickly to a waterfall.

During this collapse, the lion awoke with a start against his subjects, apparently determined to hurt him …

Sleeping Beauty By Laura Delcamp and Charlotte Deville-Cavellin

Once upon a time, Aurora was sleeping in her tower. She had been placed there, a long time ago, due to a terrible curse cast by Maleficent. For years, this rumour had been spread throughout the land. And a prince, by the name of Phillip, had heard this. Unfortunately, when he attempted to save her, Maleficent, the evil witch had kidnapped him and imprisoned him in her fortress. He was placed in the highest chamber of the tallest tower and he waited for someone to come and save him, thinking about his beautiful princess. At that very moment, three good fairies came to his rescue. The first, Flora, wore a pink gown and was the fairy of beauty. The second, Fauna, was dressed in green and gave the gift of song. The last, Merryweather, was the blue fairy of good fortune. Together, the fairies came to the rescue of Phillip. They were able to give him a sword, a shield and a gun for him to fight his way out of Maleficent’s castle. Seizing the opportunity, Prince Phillip made his way out of the castle and began his fight through the thorns to Aurora’s chamber. As he reached the foot of the castle, quite exhausted after his battle with the trees, Maleficent suddenly appeared before him. “You will never save her!” she smiled evilly. “Yes, I will! And on my way, I will kill you too!” he replied vengefully. With this, Maleficent was clouded in smoke and within a few seconds she had transformed herself into a great dragon. Phillip was aghast at such a sight but bravely took out his sword and fought the beast. Eventually, he succeeded in killing the evil beast but in exchange he lost his left arm and burnt part of his face from her fire. Burned, bloody and injured, he made his way up the tower to save his beloved. After all his waiting and his tireless battle with evil, he was ever so relieved and so glad to be finally able to kiss his beautiful princess. He went up, all the way to the top, each stair bringing him closer to his beloved beauty. At the top of the stairs he saw the door. Excited as ever, he stepped forward and turned the handle…..but it was locked. “No!” he yelled, “after all my waiting, I don’t have the key!” Missing one arm, he was not able to barge down the door and so got out his shotgun and fired the lock. And then, finally, he opened the door and gazed at his princess. He leaned down to kiss her, finally being able to. They embraced and as he opened his eyes, she began to become different before him. What he did not know was that, over time, her beauty and age were not preserved. She was now an ugly and wrinkled little prune. Unfortunately, he was obliged to marry her and they ended up not having any children. He then did not live very happily, but they were together forever. Moral: Don’t listen to rumours or live with the consequences.

The End.

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, the mother of the Red riding hood asked her to bring her grand-mother food. Her

mother said to her to pay attention along the way. When the Little Red Girl went to the forest, she

met a wolf. The wolf asked to her, where she was going. The Little Red Girl answered, she went to

see her grand-mother to bring food to her, because her poor grand-mother was sick. The wolf

proposed to the Little Red Girl to go with her at the house of her grand-mother. The Little Red Girl

said to him, she agreed.

At mid-way, the stomach of the wolf began to make some noise! The Little Red Girl looked at the

wolf with a quizzical look... And they continued their way.

Suddenly, they heard a scream. Immediately, the wolf caught Little Red Girl and ran really fast ! The

screams began to be really close. And at the middle of the way, someone appeared ! It was a woman;

she had dark hair and a very white skin... The Little Red Girl was really surprised and happy to see

Snow White because the wolf began to tighten its grip. Snow white asked to the wolf to let the Little

Red Girl. She said also to the wolf, she was fed up about the bad characters like him. Snow white

looked at the wolf in the eyes during some seconds and quickly she jumped on the wolf ! The latter

released The Little Red Girl and she fell on the ground. While both rivals were fighting, The Little Red

Girl screamed, and a hunter arrived with a rifle. But... it was really impressive because Snow White

didn't need the help of the hunter, she fought like a ninja with the wolf ! She punched him so hard

that the wolf began to cry. He said to Snow White, he was so sorry for to all the bad he had done

others. Snow White looked at The Red Little Girl and the hunter, finally she smiled a little, and she

asked the others their deal...

The wolf became a dog ! The dog of Snow White ! Now it was pulled by a leash.

When Snow White, and her new dog, the hunter and The Little Red Girl arrived at grand-mother's

house, they shared dinner and had fun all night long!

The Wolf and the Lamb

Once upon a time, a little lamb was drinking in the current of a pure flow. A wolf who

looked particularly confident, suddenly appeared on with an empty stomach.

« Who is so hardy as to muddy my water? » said the animal full of rage.

The lamb didn't answer and still was drinking peacefully.

« Hey ! Who are you to ignore me like this?! » asked the wolf, who was getting excited.

The little lamb stopped drinking and looked at the wolf in the eyes. He was wearing a

baseball cap.

« Yo brother, who are YOU to disturb me in my territory? » said the lamb.

« Are you kidding me?, laughed the wolf. Look at you, you're an innocent little lamb, who

just wants to look cool with his ridiculous cap ! And I'm a wolf, a dangerous wolf ! You

should leave right now or I will be in the obligation to eat you. »

The little lamb didn't move, and suddenly began to laugh.

« What is so funny?, asked the wolf, offended. I'm gonna kill you little lamb !

“I was sure you will say that, man ! » answered the lamb. And in a low whistle, called all of

his family. There were ten lambs in front of the wolf. And it wasn’t ten nice lambs, but ten

angry lambs!

« Oh no, please! » screamed the wolf. But all of the lamb family jumped on him and ate him

until the last piece of flesh. They just kept his coat, to make a lot of caps with it.

Moral: Better be small and many than strong and alone.

Master Raven and the Fox

Master Raven perched on a tree

Holding in his beak a cheese

Master Fox enticed

Held to Master Raven those words

‘’ How beautiful you are! You seem so nice

Truthfully, if your song

Relates to your plumage

You are the Phoenix of the woods. ‘’

After hearing him,

Master Ravenreplied

‘’ I swore that no one would catch me any more

Nice try, but I still thank you for the compliment. ‘’

While caring no tot let his cheese escape

And that outside of his throat

So Master Fox devoid of good ideas

Chose the easiest way

He took his gun

And fired a shot right in the raven

He saw the bird falling down with the cheese

And welcomed the raven-cheese sandwich

He would eat.

Sleeping beauty 2

Once upon a time, in a kingdom, a king and a queen who already wanted to have a little girl had one at last. After the birth, they organized a feast and invited all the people of the kingdom and the fairies, but not the last one fairy, who was rather a witch, because she was very bad. The fairies were passing one by one to give the little princess a good quality (the beauty, courage, honesty …) when the witch arrived in a horrible angry because she wasn’t invited. She approached at the princess and she cast a spell: “When you will be fifteen years old, you shall prick yourself with a spindle and shall fall down dead.”, before she disappeared. One of the fairies decided to transform the spell (because it couldn’t be broken). She said: “No, you shall not die, but instead shall fall into a long sleep of one century, with your entire kingdom, before that a charming prince will arrive and kiss you to save you.” After this day, the king condemned all the spindles of the kingdom. Then the little princess lived all her childhood in peace and happiness without knowing anything about the spell. But the day of her fifteenth birthday, despite all precautions that her parents had taken, she pricked herself with a spindle, as said the spell. She fell then in a long sleep of a century, after which a prince charming arrived and kissed her. She awoke and raised the head, and then she looked at the prince a long time, when he was already smiling. She decided finally to speak: “Hum… Who are you, she grimaced.” He answered: “I’m a prince charming and I kissed you to awake you. Then, we must go back together and have a lot of children, live happy…” She was still looking at him; or rather she was staring at him, before asking: “You are THE prince charming who must save me?” “YES, OF COURSE!” he answered. She sighed, disappointed: “You’re not very beautiful... I prefer the gardener of my castle.” “Who? The gardener? I hoped that you haven’t any gardener…” he said. “Oh sorry, it was probably in my dream…” The prince, shocked, was in trouble. “Okay, okay, I go back, I saw a pretty girl before coming here. I can invite you for my marriage, if you want.” She smiled, happily: “Okay and …hum… thank you for waking me up.” “Oh, it’s nothing, princess. Now, I can help you to search a husband!” “Oh, thank you very much, but after your marriage, I want to sleep more, because I want to live with the gardener, in my dream…, she answered.” The Sleeping beauty met her family, was present at the marriage of the prince charming and then she returned to sleep eternally and lived very happy with the gardener, in her dream. Moral : “Dreams are always stronger than the reality.”

The Lamb and the Wolf

Once upon a time, a lamb was walking in the forest; he began to feel thirsty so he decided to go in

search of a river. After travelling 2kilometers, the lamb finally found a river. He came to drink when

suddenly a frog came out of the water and jumped on a rock, the lamb, scared left...

The frog said to him

"Don't be afraid, I'm here to warn you of something, approach I don't want to shout otherwise everyone

will hear."

The lamb approached with caution because her mother had always told him to be wary of strangers.

The frog said

"There is a hungry wolf who has been hanging here for a few days, he is hiding in the forest and when

he sees a lost lamb, he takes the opportunity to rush over and subsequently devour it.

The lamb thanked the shocked frog for having warned him and then up to the entrance of the forest he

was thoughtful of all that the frog had said then turned around and called the frog because he had

found an idea.

Moral: Appearance is somehow misleading.

The Tortoise and the Hare

In a city far away, lived two neighbors: a hare and a turtle. They were very

in conflict. The hare had all he wanted and the turtle nothing. The hare was

beautiful and the frogs very ugly but the frogs had a thing that the hare did

not have: intelligence! The turtle made many plans to kill the hare: a crash,

an accident, anything! One day, the turtle found a better idea! The hare

was a sprinter in athletics and he loved showing his talents! Thus the plans

of the frogs were to trap him! He was going to invite him to make a race for

the stadium in front of everybody and to trap the runner. So he went

looking for him and suggested him the race, the hare agreed. Everyone

talked about this amazing race and many people came to attend this event.

The turtle had prepared everything; she had put explosives on the tracks!

The turtle and the hare put up and the race began! Except that this turtle

was on the wrong line and it was placed on the line she had trapped. She

realized this too late and exploded!

The Tortoise and the Hare

Like every morning, the Hare boasted,

To be the fastest of all.

Other animals of the forest,

Were tired of him.

What a selfish hare!!

The Tortoise, thoughtful and intelligent,

Decided to challenge the Hare,

The latter being a race.

And see who would be the winner.

The Hare agreed by mockingly!

The next morning, they both found themselves,

At the entrance of the forest.

The departure was given, the race began.

The Hare went smoothly, sure of himself, lowering the Tortoise and swelling with

pride,

The Tortoise, indifferent replied: "That you think you are the bee's knees, watch one

day you could make you and continued his race".

There were no incidents,

The Hare remained first but with little advance,

The Tortoise was indifferent as usual.

However, a few meters before the finish,

The ground began to tremble,

A hole was formed and three turtles came out!

The Hare was frightened and examined the three animals in front of him

He recognized them from the cartoons he had watched when he was a baby hare,

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!

Our dear small Tortoise who participated in the race,

Joined his faithful friends.

All four made had given a lesson to the Hare.

They finished the race with the acclamation of the other animals!

Today again, all animals are suspicious about the slow slow slow Tortoises...
