1 Introduction

1.1 About this Document This Software Change Notice describes the prerequisites, resolved PARs, applicable notes, and steps to install Experion MX MD Controls R701.3 point release on an Experion MX R700.1 or higher system. This document is intended for use by Honeywell Software Control Engineers and manufacturing personnel who are responsible for installing the MD Controls software on an Experion MX QCS server or operator station computer. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with MD Controls concepts and the QCS in general.

1.2 About this Point Release This is a cumulative point release which addresses problems resolved since the release of Experion MX MD Controls R701.1. It should be installed only on systems that currently have the Experion MX MD Controls R701.x (MD Multivariable Controls or MD Traditional Controls) installed.

ATTENTION: Experion MX MD Controls R701.1 Multivariable Control and Experion MX MD Controls R701.1 Traditional Control require 6543210131 installation media available in PDMS.

2 New Features

2.1 Improved MD Grade Change display MD Grade Change display shown in Figure 2-1 has been redesigned to provide a significantly improved user experience by allowing the operator to carry out much faster all necessary actions to interact with Grade Change Control to prepare, start and monitor grade changes.

3 Problems Solved This section provides an overview of the problems resolved in this release. A total of 29 existing problem-type PARs and two enhancement requests against MD Multivariable Control and functions have been resolved. Among the 29 existing problem-type PARs 20 were customer visible PARs. Two existing customer visible problem-type PARs and two enhancement requests against MD Traditional Control and functions have been resolved.

4 Before you Begin

4.1 Prerequisities This Experion MX MD Controls R701.3 point release can only be applied on an Experion MX R700.x or higher system which has Experion MX MD Controls R701.x installed. It is recommended to take a backup of the machine before deploying the point release.

4.2 Verify the present version on the node To verify the present version on the node, perform the following steps on Experion Station running with a security level of manager or higher:

1. In the menu bar, click the (QCS Setup) button. The System setup & Debug dialog box appears.

2. Click the Version button. The MD Controls version level should be appearing as 701.1 or 701.2.

5 Point Release Installation

5.1 Download MD R701.3 Point Release from Honeywell Process Site 1. Open the default browser, paste the following URL in the address bar and press ENTER.

2. Under Home tab, enter the Honeywell EID and LDAP Password as login credentials.

3. On successful login, Experion-MX-MD-Controls-R701-3.zip compressed file is downloaded on

the machine. 4. Copy the downloaded file to the location c:\Temp and extract the MD701.3.exe ZIP file to

c:\Temp folder.

5.2 Extract the point release files To extract the files of MD701.3, perform the following steps:

1. Right-click MD701.3.exe and select Run as Administrator. The Self-Extracting Archive dialog box appears. 2. Extract to C:\temp\ directory.

3. Click Extract.

The file is extracted and the extraction creates a folder named MD701.3 in the selected folder which contains all of the extracted files.

5.3 Pre-installation To shutdown RAE, perform the following steps:

1. If the Experion Station is running, click the (Exit Station) button in the top menu bar to exit from the station window. A confirmation message appears.

2. Click Yes. The RAE Control Panel – Server dialog box appears.

3. If RAE is running, click Shutdown RAE button to shut it down. 4. On RAE Control Panel – Server dialog box click Yes to stop RAE.

5. If you have not logged using the QCSAdmin account, log off the current Windows user account,

and then log on using QCSAdmin to ensure you have Administrator privileges

5.4 Perform Cleanup To remove previous MDMV Controller instance:

1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Honeywell\Experion MX\MDMV Controls\Controllers. 2. Delete the MPC1 folder.

5.5 Installing the MD701.3 point release To install the MD701.3, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to C:\temp\MD701.3. 2. Right-Click setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.

The InstallShield Wizard dialog box appears.

3. Click Install the Point Release now.

The Backup Directory Path appears.

4. Click Next.

After the installation is completed, the Installation Complete – Restart Windows dialog box appears.

5. Click Finish, to restart machine. After restart, installer resumes to perform LabVIEW Mass-

compile automatically.

5.6 Rebuild System from Configuration File To have the changes reflect on the system, you must rebuild system from configuration file. Follow the below steps to rebuild system from configuration file:

1. Open the Configuration Browser 2. In the File menu, select Build & Load Config Environment option. 3. After build and load is complete, to import the existing configuration file, navigate to

Cruncher menu and select Import System Setup File option. 4. From Select Setup File to Import window, select the currently used System Configuration

File and click OK. 5. Select the imported system from the tree, and then Export and Build the System DRG file.

6 Point release removal Automatic removal of the MD R701.3 point release is not supported. To restore the system to MD R701.x you must restore the system from a recent backup. No batch file is provided to perform this restore operation and it must be performed manually.
