1. Introduction
This guide describes the steps to create custom displays in HMIWeb Display
Builder using Experion MX HMIWeb Controls for Experion-QCS integrated
systems. The Experion MX HMIWeb controls can be used to build specific
Experion MX displays as well as to build hybrid displays i.e. displays containing
Experion MX HMIWeb controls along with Experion HMIWeb controls. This
feature allows building of operator displays for Experion MX in the same way
custom displays are built for Experion.
1.1. Audience
This manual is intended for use by anyone using QCS CDA with Experion MX
R70x.x software.

1.4. Conventions
The following conventions are used in this manual:
Text may appear in uppercase or lowercase except as specified in these conventions.
Boldface Boldface characters in this special type indicate your input. Special Type Characters in this special type that are not boldfaced indicate system prompts,
responses, messages, or characters that appear on displays, keypads, or as
menu selections.
Italics In a command line or error message, words and numbers shown in italics
represent filenames, words, or numbers that can vary; for example, filename
represents any filename.
In text, words shown in italics are manual titles, key terms, notes, cautions, or
warnings.
Boldface Boldface characters in this special type indicate button names, button menus,
fields on a display, parameters, or commands that must be entered exactly as
they appear.
lowercase In an error message, words in lowercase are filenames or words that can vary.
In a command line, words in lowercase indicate parameter input.
Type Type means to type the text on a keypad or keyboard.
Press Press means to press a key or a button.

[ENTER]
or [RETURN] [ENTER] is the key you press to enter characters or commands into the
system, or to accept a default option. In a command line, square brackets are
included; for example: SXDEF 1 [ENTER]
[CTRL] [CTRL] is the key you press simultaneously with another key. This key is
called different names on different systems; for example,
[CONTROL], or [CTL].
[KEY-1]-KEY-2 Connected keys indicate that you must press the keys simultaneously; for
example,
[CTRL]-C.
Click Click means to position the mouse pointer on an item, then quickly depress
and release the mouse button. This action highlights or “selects,” the item
clicked.
Double-click Double-click means to position the mouse pointer on an item, and then click
the item twice in rapid succession. This action selects the item “double-
clicked.”
Drag X Drag X means to move the mouse pointer to X, then press the mouse button
and hold it down, while keeping the button down, move the mouse pointer.
Press X Press X means to move the mouse pointer to the X button, then press the
mouse button and hold it down.
The attention icon appears beside a note box containing information that is
important.

3. Overview
This chapter provides an overview on the new Experion MX HMIWeb Controls.
3.1. Experion MX Trend Control
The Experion MX Trend Control can be used to trend a QCS scalar parameter
(available as a CDA point.paramater) that has been configured for trending on the
QCS server node. The trend chart shows the value of the scalar parameter being
trended on the y-axis (vertical axis) and the time on the x- axis (horizontal axis).
3.2. Experion MX Profile Control
The Experion MX Profile control is used to view the profile (the Cross-Direction
variations) for a profile parameter (available as a CDA point.paramater). The
profile chart shows the array value of the parameter being measured on the y- axis
(vertical axis) and the cross directional position on the x-axis (horizontal axis).
3.3. Experion MX Localization Control
The Experion MX Localization control is used to support run-time localization of
operator visible text for Experion MX HMIWeb displays.
P/N 6510020601 Rev 02 5/7/18 4-1
4. Configuration
This chapter provides the procedure to configure the HMIWeb controls in
HMIWeb Display Builder.
4.1. Before You Begin
The QCS Solutions pack must be installed on the Experion node to make the controls
available in the HMIWeb Display Builder.
Experion MX HMIWeb Controls are available only for QCS integrated scenario having
QCS CDA package added in it.
• Refer to the Installation Checklists in section 3.5 of the Experion MX
R701 Release and Installation Notes, to install the QCS Solution pack
on Experion nodes.
• Refer to the Configuration Checklists in Chapter 1 of the Experion MX
R70x Configuration and Maintenance Guide ,for RAE R70x
installation scenarios.
• Refer to the section 2.3.1 of the QCS CDA User Manual PN

2. Scale
Scale is used to set auto or manual scaling for a plotted trend
parameter. By default, a plotted trend parameter will be set with an
auto scaling.
Auto Scale automatically scales the trend so that it makes the most use
of the available range on the Y-axis of the trend. User can change this
setting to manual for a trend parameter by clicking on AUTO option
and by unchecking the Auto Scale option in the Scale pop-up.
Minimum and Maximum option will allow the users to enter the
minimum and maximum values for the y-axis range on the trend.

time. Select a particular Recipe/Roll and click OK to view the trend
for the selected Recipe/Roll.
4. Duration Selector
Duration selector is used to select the duration for viewing the trend
chart. By default, the duration selector is set to 20 minutes. The
dropdown can be used to select other duration values.
5. Events
Clicking on Events option shows the events on the trend chart. All the
events that occurred during the duration selected will be displayed.
6. Pause or Live
This button is used to toggle the state of the control between Live
Update and Pause state.
This button is set to Pause and disabled for the duration greater than eight hours
(selected from duration dropdown).

2. Freeze
when Freeze is clicked the frozen profile is shown in dotted yellow line.
The freeze button is a toggle button. click on the freeze button again to
unfreeze the profile.
3. XY-Axis
This option is used to enable/disable the axis of the chart.
Clicking on the button will allow the user to toggle between the four
states.

c.
This indicates, show only Y-axis.
d.
This indicates, show no axis.
4. Scale
Scale is used to set auto or manual scaling for a plotted profile parameter.
By default, a plotted profile parameter will be set with an auto scaling.
Auto Scale automatically scales the profile so that it makes the most
use of the available range on the Y-axis of the profile. When in auto
scale mode, the scale is updated on each measurement data refresh (i.e.
end of scan) after the initial range is set. User can change this setting
to manual for a profile parameter by clicking on AUTO option and by
unchecking the Auto Scale option in the Scale pop-up.
Minimum and Maximum option will allow the users to enter the
minimum and maximum values for the y-axis range on the profile.
Span option is used by an operator to enter a single value for the span
range to be displayed. The axis will then show half of that range above
the profile average and half below the profile average.
5. Mode
HMIWeb User Guide Control Runtime Properties
5/7/18 P/N 6510020601 Rev 02 5-8
This drop down is used to select the mode from a list of standard
modes:
i. Absolute around Setpoint
ii. Percentage around Setpoint
iii. Absolute around Average
iv. Percentage around Average
v. Absolute
6. Profile Status
The profile status is indicated in one of the following three ways:
• Green LED - Indicates the data is both within limits
and is not stale.
• Yellow LED - Indicates the scanner has not yet scanned
sufficient scans, usually two scans.
• Red LED - Indicates the data is either out of limits or is
stale. Stale means that the data has not been updated within
the timeout period defined by the setup display.
7. Delete Profile
Delete Profile button is used in order to remove a profile parameter
based on the user’s choice.
8. Show/Hide Profile
Show/Hide Profile is a slider switch that is used to show or hide a
plotted profile parameter.
