About Cuyahoga50Water. It sustains us, nourishes us, and drives our economy. By the time the Cuyahoga River caught fire for the last time on June 22, 1969, it was dead. Fifty years later the river is

alive again. Cuyahoga50 brings together nearly 300 partners to celebrate our progress and to learn from the past in

tackling today’s clean water challenges.

Common GroundOn June 30, 2019, Cleveland Foundation’s Common Ground will support 100+ community conversations where residents connect, share a meal, and discuss topics related to the “environment” theme. More at clevelandfoundation.org.

Water and the ArtsA number of Cuyahoga50 arts events are in this guide, including the Creative Fusion projects sponsored by the Cleveland Foundation. Also, on June 26th, Cleveland Museum of Art hosts “In Conversation: Cai Gou-Qiang and David Stradling,” a discussion of social and environmental issues in the context of Cai’s “Cuyahoga River Lightning” exhibit.

There is something for everyone, including live musical performances by Hey Mavis and The Labra Brothers. Great Lakes Science Center will be FREE for everyone, and Rock Hall is FREE for Cleveland residents.

Sustainable Transportation on June 22

Event Map Key

FREE RTA day! The entire system of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will be free on June 22nd. This free day is presented by the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland Foundation, and Gund

FREE Lolly the Trolleys!FREE Lolly the Trolley shuttles, sponsored by K&D, will also be running from 9am to 9pm. Shuttles depart about every 10 minutes from each location. Trolleys stops include Public Square, Flats East Bank, Settler’s Landing RTA stop, Rivergate Park, West 25th St RTA station, Veteran’s Memorial Bridge (West Side entrance), and Nautica.

Bicycle ParkingCycling is encouraged, with bicycle parking at each major event location.
