Benefice Big summer read! It’s that time of the year when we join together in deepening our discipleship through a shared read. This year we are recommending two books to allow for choice - One is David Adam “the eye of the eagle” a book based around the hymn be thou my vision. The other is “have a little Faith” by Mitch Albom a true story of the authors encounter of faith. Both are easily available and would be a great springboard for chatting about our own faith.

Eternal Father, look with your love on your people of this benefice and the wider Partnership, and pour upon us the gifts of your Spirit. Draw us to you and one another that our growing unity may bring healing of life to all, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Thought for this week…..by Rev. Michelle MartinAs I sit down to write my thought for the week, my little puppy Holly is dancing round in circles trying to catch her tail!! I am reminded of a song we used to sing with our Brownie pack:“God’s love is like a circle, a circle big and round; and when you see a circle, no ending can be found; and, so the love of Jesus goes on

eternally; forever and forever I know that God loves me.”Symbols have long been used to express deep truths, often where words just don’t do the job. Over the last few days, I have been looking at our benefice logo and wondering at what it conveys to me of God. As I look at the three pointed knot, I think of the three churches – how unique and special each church is, and yet how we are all part of the one benefice, held together by the circle of God’s love. I am also led to reflect on the Holy Trinity – the depths of the relationship between the three persons of the Trinity, and how we are each drawn into that

relationship. Try and take some time over the next week to really notice the symbols that surround us every day, and to reflect on what they mean to you. Why not start with the cross?
