    most part t+ey are e(actly like e,e y eing deeply cold +earted at time wit+ little +elpeing gi,en for not+ing and in most cases e,eryone trying to take full ad,antage of you for

    your +ard earned or sometimes not so +ard earned isk.

    /+en I first started playing I played part time and egan to generate small amounts of

    isk and as time went and I egan to understand more aout t+e game I ecame more

    efficient in t+e t+ings I was doing and generating more isk for t+e amount of time I was

    playing and was t+erefore ale to pay for t+e account y t+e use of isk w+ic+ +elp ecause

    at t+e time I was not in a good way financially in real life.

    0ue to playing wit+ a friend I ended up p,ping w+ic+ costs a lot to sustain at times due

    to t+e ine,itaility of ganks etc so t+is was also anot+er reason t+at I needed to ma(imise+ow muc+ isk I was making for t+e time I was playing w+ic+ resulted in me ac1uiring ,arious

    knowledge of t+e many types of ways to make isk and w+ic+ are t+e est ways.

    T+ere is a 1uick summary of t+e main types of isk generating elow all of w+ic+ I will

    elaorate on furt+er on in t+e guide.

    $ining:T+is consists of in general using a s+ip wit+ mining lasers or strip miners to take ore from

    asteroids from eit+er an asteroid elt or ple( etc and t+en selling t+e ore etc.

    $oon $ining:

    $ining a moon wit+ a pos 3player owned station4 to collect t+e moon minerals w+ic+ are

    needed in t+e uilding of tec+ 2 components.

    Building:

    1uipment ?

    In t+e eginning you will undoutedly e limited ot+ in skill and cas+ to t+e most asic of

    e1uipment. > fast frigate some cargo e(panders and maye an afterurner or micro warp dri,e. But

    fear not t+is will c+ange 1uickly. >s cas+ flows in you can upgrade to more skills and etter s+ips

    3more cargo4 and +ig+er wort+ trade goods.

    T+e most important items I5d say were speed and cargo cap. Pick an industrial you wis+ to fly and

    It takes money to make money ut +ow can you make money wit+ no money@ /ell you canHt. ou

    must eit+er do some mining agent missions or if you are particularly ra,e pirating. I5d recommend

    >gent running. In a fast s+ip you can make se,eral million in -ust a few days if not less e,en at t+e

    most asic of agents. If mining is more your style t+en strap on some miners and +a,e at it ut t+e

    point is you are going to need at least a few million efore you are ,iale as a trader. It can e

    done wit+ less ut it takes more time. If you +a,e made friends you mig+t e ale to persuade

    t+em to part wit+ a it to ack your ,enture +owe,er if you c+oose t+is route make sure you pay

    t+em ack on time and wit+out prolems. Not doing so may incur t+e wrat+ of some up and comingfig+ter pilots people you donHt need to meet later in your career flying t+at fully loaded industrial

    location and also if its a region solar system or station uy6sell order. Pay attention to t+at. $ake

    !atting is t+e process w+erey a player c+aracter will enter a star system and warp towards an

    asteroid elt or a stargate. >t t+ese locations NPC rats may e present. T+e player will kill t+ese NPC

    c+aracter and in return recei,e a ounty. T+is ounty will reflect t+e difficulty of killing t+e NPC ?

    Battles+ip NPCs will gi,e more ounty t+an a Cruiser NPC for e(ample. T+e ounty is added to t+e

    playerHs wallet and from t+ere spent on w+ate,er t+e player wants ? s+ips items etc.

    $a(imising your profit:

    !atting takes up time. It takes time for you to kill a NPC and you want to do t+is as 1uickly as

    possile so t+at you can mo,e on to your ne(t ,ictim.

    T+is means you want to do as muc+ damage as possile in t+e s+ortest amount of time possile.

    To t+at end ratting is ,ery muc+ like doing missions ? you s+ould fit weapons on your s+ip t+at are

    effecti,e against t+e ratsH nati,e resistances.

    T+e following rat types and damage types detail w+at you s+ould e aiming for:

    Guristas: Kinetic t+en t+ermal damage.

    Blood !aider: $ t+en t+ermal damage.

    *ans+as Nation: $ t+en t+ermal damage.

    By design t+ese are also t+e resistances you s+ould e aiming to use on your s+ip as well ? Guristas

    T+e only e(ception to t+at rule is >ngel rats ? t+ey actually deal out all types of damage. $ostly it is

    2. Increasing your c+ances of a commander or officer spawn

    T+ereHs a secret to +ow rats work. > spawn of rats is not random. ;etHs say weHre in our '2 elt

    system and t+ereHs no one else around. ItHs -ust you ratting. ou encounter a ( cruiser and 2( frigate

    spawn of rats. !uis+. *o you ignore it ? w+y waste your time on it@ /ell t+ereHs a good reason to

    waste your time on it. If you kill it off it is usually replaced wit+ a slig+tly etter spawn. Per+aps itHll

    e ( attle cruisers and ( cruisers. Not muc+ etter sure. But you kill t+at one off too. T+at gets

    replaced y say a doule #))k isk attles+ip spawn. Kill t+at it gets replaced wit+ a %#)K spawn.

    Kill t+at you get a ))k spawn...SSSSS triple '.# spawn 3>ssuming your systemHs sec status allows

    it4.

    Now t+is isnHt always completely linear. ou may find t+at it skips some steps ? #))k S ))k for

    e(ample. >gain t+is is perfectly normal and not+ing to e afraid of. T+e replacement spawn doesnHtappear straig+t away it takes t+e usual #?') minutes to respawn and itHs not always in t+e same elt

    y yourself for a long time youHll notice a general trend for t+e rats to get igger and igger and

    T+ey go ruis+ ecause youH,e reac+ed t+e end of t+e spawn ? once youH,e killed off t+e top

    spawn it resets to a ruis+ one and t+e cycle starts again.

    Killing off all t+e cans 3s+ooting t+em4 will increase t+e spawn rate of rats.

    ;ea,ing a rat in +alf?armour w+en c+aining will increase t+e speed 3or in some ,ersions is re1uired4

    to make t+e c+ain continue.

    C+aining rats pre,ents you from getting a Commander spawn.

    C+aining rats will lead to poorer rats in t+e system.

    T+e system will produce crappy rats if you wear it out y c+aining or ratting e(cessi,ely. Gi,e it a

    few days to calm down.

    T+ese are all wrong and itHs est to ignore t+em.

    T+is isnHt so muc+ a lie itHs more a misunderstanding of +ow t+e ratting system works. C+aining arat spawn +as no effect on if a commander will appear. Commanders 3may4 appear at t+e end of a

    cycle of a spawn. If you keep t+is cycle stuck it will of course ne,er cycle t+roug+ to get t+e c+ance

    for t+e commander to appear. If you are c+aining e,ery spawn in system yes you won5t get a

    commander w+ilst c+aining ecause t+e spawns are stuck at a certain le,el. T+ey canHt mature to

    t+eir new cycle and t+us +a,e t+e c+ance to appear. If you kill off t+e c+ains completely youHll get

    your c+ance like e,eryone else.

    T+ink of it like rolling a dice. If you continually -ust pick up t+e dice and t+en put it down again same

    side down as it was efore 3c+aining4 you won5t e,er get t+e c+ance to roll a % ecause youHre

    always on #. 0o it ')) times in a row and you will always -ust +a,e a # ecause youHre not allowing

    t+e dice to roll. But t+e minute you stop doing t+at and actually roll t+e dice 3kill off t+e spawn4 you

    $> get a %.

    as some missions are not well known for dropping a +ig+ amount of loot or sal,age.

    I would recommend t+is type of income as a start to t+e game +owe,er after time t+ere are

    etter ways suc+ as trading to make money wit+out spending as muc+ time.

    T+is is often seen as morally wrong or seen as e(ploiting t+e game y many +owe,er many scams

    are perfectly legal and in fact most are -ust preying on t+e people in t+e game w+o +a,e more isk

    t+en sense.

    $ost scams t+at are pulled off are done so y gaining trust y many people of a few and t+en

    after a w+ile eing trusted wit+ isk or resources etc. place w+ere most scams are done is -ita in local c+at many +ere spam too muc+ and +a,e little

    e,idence t+ey are not scammers and t+erefore fail a great deal +owe,er if you work +ard and +a,e

    common sense t+ere are way to pro,e you are to e trusted wit+ sometimes w+at can e illions of

    isk and all you need to do is prey on peoples greed.

    $any scams can e seen eing s+own in -ita c+at so it is likely if you +ang around t+ere for a w+ile

    you will learn many of t+e scams w+ic+ also include contracts are and will proaly gi,e you little

    ideas of coming up wit+ your own ecause many people can do t+e same scam ut t+e first people
