Support Model• Premium Maintenance Contract for the NS20 hardware

and software

• After installation• EMC Customer Service field personnel will maintain the EMC

40U rack, the Celerra NS20 hardware and the Celerra NAS code

• EMC Customer Service will be responsible for the replacement of failed parts on the Celerra NS20, and for Celerra NAS code upgrades

• RSA Customer Care will maintain the RSA enVision software and Dell hardware

Page 13: enVision Storage

RSA Integrated

CE Responsibilities• Connect the AC power to the EMC rack.

• Boot the NS20. There is no connection between the NS20 Data Movers and the customer’s LAN. The Data Movers are only connected to the Dell servers in the same rack.

• Attach the Control Station to the customer’s network.

• Configure and test the phone home connection.

• Explain to the customer how to monitor and manage the NS20 with Celerra Manager via the control station.

• Work with the EMC Installed Base Group (IBG) to update the installed base configuration in CSI.

• Verify there is a site message stating that the NS20 is part of the RSA enVision solution.

Minimum requirements for EMC Celerra hardware, per enVision LS site:• Minimum number of Data Movers = 1 (dedicated to

RSA enVision storage)

• Recommended number of Data Movers = 2 (1 active, 1 failover)

• Minimum of 15 FC HDDs. HDD capacity depends on the data storage capacity required.

• Dedicated 1 Gb network interface per Data Movers

Storage Processor / Data Mover LED Behavior

Initial Power On• Power LED = on, Fault LED = off

BIOS Test• Power LED = on, Fault LED = 0.25 Hz blink rate

POST Test & Extended POST Test• Power LED = on, Fault LED = 1 Hz blink rate

OS Boot and Driver Load• Power LED = on, Fault LED = 4 Hz blink rate

Successful SP Boot• Power LED = on, Fault LED = off

The SP’s and data movers take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to successfully boot. At this point, the power LED should be solid green and the fault LED should be off. If any other status is showing other than this, call EMC support.

How to power down a Celerra NS20

Do the following before you power down the Celerra NS20• Notify all users of the planned powerdown several days in advance when possible

• Inhibit all logins and notify all users several minutes in advance of the impending powerdown

• Log out all users

Log in to the Control Station as root, using a Telnet or SSH session. To perform a planned powerdown, you must be within close proximity to the server. To halt the Celerra server, type:

# /nasmcd/sbin/nas_halt nowARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONTINUE? [ yes or no ] :# yesSending the halt signal to the Master Control Daemon...: Done..Halting system...flushing ide devices: hda hddPower down.

It can take as long as 20 minutes to halt the server, depending on the number of blades and the size of the database.Wait until the command completes before continuing.

Disconnect the blade enclosure power cords from the power distribution units (PDUs).Turn off (0 position) the power switch on the standby power supplies (SPSs) and wait at least one minute to allow the storage system to write its cache to disk. Make sure the supply’s power indicator is off before continuing.Disconnect the DAE3P power cords from the PDU.If no components other than the NS20 are in the cabinet, turn off the cabinet circuit breakers.
