weekend, we went to the zoo. We saw elephants and crocodiles. It was good.

Some verbs have an irregular past simple. There are no rules. You have to learn them.

The past simple form doesn't change at all. It's the same for I, he, she, we, you and they.

We need to use did to make negative and interrogative sentences.
