Clubs for Autumn Term 2015 Letters for clubs for the Autumn Term will go onto our school website on the evening of Friday 26th June. A text message will go out to inform you when all the letters can be downloaded. Please complete the forms and return them with the correct payment to school (or as specified by the outside agencies) from Monday 29th June onwards. Clubs places are given on a first come first serve basis. The deadline for club slips to be returned is Friday 10th July. This is a hard deadline to accommodate the admin of clubs and no slips will be accepted after this date. Thank you in advance for your understanding with this. Please don’t forget your child will be moving up one year group in the Autumn Term and so make sure you are applying to age appropriate clubs!

Dear Parent/Carer, I am delighted to announce that as well as having a wonderful time at the International Evening last week,

you raised a fantastic total of £1,670.28! This money will be split between our school and the Jewels

School in Sierra Leone. Many thanks again for all your hard work. A letter went home this week regarding our whole school trip to Hampstead Heath. Please return your consent slips as soon as possible. Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine! Kind regards, Miss Fitzsimmons

Year 6 School Journey This week our Year 6 children have been on School Journey to PGL. They have had lots of fun taking part in activities such as abseiling, swing rope, raft building and thoroughly enjoyed throwing Mr Wright in the cold water!

Year 5 Art & DT Day at Hampstead Secondary School On Thursday the Year 5 children were kindly invited to Hampstead School for an Art and DT day where they experienced what art and DT looks like in secondary school. They started off with a tour of their incredible art exhibition and then moved to the food technology department to make apple and berry crumble. In the afternoon, children had a DT lesson where they made badges and tried spin art. They also had an art lesson where they created imaginary animals with oil pastels. A fantastic day was had by all!

Butterflies in the EYFS! The children in Diamond and Ruby class have been very excited this week as some of the cocoons have opened and released the first butterflies! Diamond class also had lots of fun on their mini beast hunt in Fortune Green!

Ruby Class Visit West End Lane Books and the Library for Story Time!

This week Ruby class had a great time visiting our local library and the bookshop both located on West End Lane. They learnt about different types of books and had fantastic story times. They even got

to explore the library before the doors opened to the public! They were also very lucky to meet the wonderful Danny at West End Lane Books who read so many lovely stories. All the children in Ruby class enjoyed exploring our local treasures. Both trips showed us how much Ruby class love listening to stories. We love books! What book are you going to read this weekend?

Tissue Box Fundraiser! Sam Dumont (Parent in Emerald class) has very kindly donated over 200 blank tissue boxes from her company 'Atissu' to Emmanuel School. The children have created their own design on each box related to their learning this year and we would like to give you the opportunity to buy one! Your child's tissue box will go on sale on Friday 3rd July after school in the MUGA in the

Omega building. Tissue boxes cost £3.00 each, 2 for £5.00 or 3 for £7.00 if you have more than one child. All the money made will go to the school and will be used to enhance your child's education. Thank you as always for your on-going support, we really appreciate it!

Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) The week beginning 6th July is our Health Week and children will be participating in Relationship & Sex Education (RSE) lessons. Please take a look at the RSE Policy on our website (‘our school’ / ‘policies’) to find out what we teach, how we teach and the process for withdrawal. Please speak to the class teacher or myself if you have any questions or queries. Parents of children in Year 5 and 6 have an opportunity to come to an RSE Meeting on Monday 29th June at 5.45pm to find out in more detail what the children will be learning, how the lessons will be managed and take a look at the resources that will be used. We encourage you to come along to this meeting.
