to pursue them.” – Walt Disney
Design MethodologyWe began this lab having trouble using the sensors,
however, after three separate attempts we were able to
create a functioning program. We used this code as the basis for the racing round. We had to
adjust the code to make the sensors more sensitive than it was for previous mazes.
Design Methodology Continued…
Our usage of the sensors included not only single sensor commands, but
combinations of two sensors to avoid catching in
corners. This was crucial because Awesome Blossom
had a tendency to box herself into corners!
Problems and their Solutions
Our main obstacle was learning how to use the program to successfully
program the robot’s sensors. Three attempts later and we
had perfected our code. Also, Awesome Blossom was a robot who loved corners, so we
had to tweak the code many times to avoid this hazard.
Awesome Blossom lines up to start…
Team Conclusions•Higher appreciation of
Electrical Engineering and robotics
•Teamwork is key!•Intuitive problem solving•Hands-on experience in
robotics
