Context: ECO-UNESCO (Clubs) Ireland, an environmental education and youth organisaiton, is a Key Partner of the UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The GAP focuses on generating and scaling up ESD action at all levels and in all areas of education and in all sustainable development sectors. The GAP has five Action Areas, ECO-UNESCO (Clubs) Ireland has been selected to support the implementation of Key Priority 4, mobilizing and engaging youth, which is recognised as key to the success of the GAP. ECO-UNESCO (Clubs) Ireland is a leader of ESD in Ireland, and has a wide range of youth empowerment programmes. ECO-UNESCO (Clubs) Ireland is running a UNESCO Flagship Education for Sustainable Development Youth Leadership training (21-22 February), that aims to inspire and mobilise young people (18-34) to take action towards a more sustainable and just future. Objectives: Designed for young people aged18-35 who have a demonstratedactive engagement in sustainable development as an educator, trainer,member of an NGO, policy maker or in any other relevant capacity. The training aims to:

1. Empower youth leaders to inspire and mobilise others to take action towards building more sustainable, just and resilient communities

2. Build a youth-led ESD networkfor exchange and collaboration. Participants will be invited to join the ESD Young leaders Network coordinatedby UNESCO and the GAP

Participants will engage with the theory and practice on the following themes: • Sustainability• ESD• Systems Thinking• • Leadership• Visioning• Communication• Facilitation• Networking• Monitoring and Evaluation

Structure:The training programme centers around a two-day workshop where participants engage with the theory and practice of ESD in order to build their capacity as ESD leaders. In order to maximise the learning possible in the two-day workshop, participants complete an online pre-session to gain foundational knowledge before the training, and an online post-session to give continuity to the group and the training goals after the training.

Module 4: ESD Action and Monitoring Post-session Online 27 February
