ISSUE DEFINITION/APPLICATION GraphicAccessibility DEFINE: the ability to access information

APPLY: students use Google to search for information in easy way and without entering password.

Security DEFINE: refers to the protection of hardware, software, machines and networks from unauthorized access, alteration or destruction.

Privacy DEFINE: the ability of individuals and groups to determine for themselves when, how and to what extent information about themselves is shared with others.

APPLY: Student may see other student information to bully them.

Hacker (Hacking)

DEFINE: Someone with the knowledge and skills to break into computers systems or networks to steal or change information.

APPLY: A student might “hack” into a school computer to change their grades or attendance

Acceptable Use Policy

DEFINE: is a set of rules applied by the owner/manager of a network, website or large computer system that restrict the ways in which the network site or system may be used.

APPLY: One strategy that many schools use to defuse such dangers is a student Acceptable Use Policy, or AUP, for the Internet.

Plagiarism DEFINE: Copying someone else's words or work and saying they're yours

APPLY: stealing someone else's idea for a science project or by copying a book report off the Internet and turning it in as if it's his or her original work

Cheating DEFINE: when a person misleads, deceives, or acts dishonestly on purpose by stealing other information.

APPLY: student is doing it by sneaking answers to a test, or students give their answers to their friends during the test.

DEFINE: The use of e-technology to support hostile and repeated behavior intending to harm others.

APPLY: A student might send threatening and harassing emails to his teacher.

Password DEFINE: A word or code that protects against unauthorized access to data.

Anonymous DEFINE: Something or someone whose identity is not currently known.

APPLY: A student might send threatening emails to his teacher anonymously.

provides ways for users to interact, such as file sharing, blogging, and discussion groups, to build communities of people who have common interests. 

APPLY: A student might use a social network tool while the teacher is teaching.

Chatting DEFINE: Online conversations in which a person is immediately able to send messages back and forth to one another.

APPLY: Students might use their phones and blackberries for chatting during the class.

Identity Theft DEFINE : The co-option of another person's personal information (e.g., name, credit card number) without that person's knowledge.

APPLY: A student pretends to be a teacher in order to steal information.

Online Predators

DEFINE : An adult Internet user who exploits vulnerable children or teens, usually for sexual or other abusive purposes.

APPLY: An adult student sends a request to a teenager includes threats or other aggressive communications that cause distress, fear or embarrassment.

Digital Divide DEFINE : It refers to the gap between people with effective access to digital and information technology and those with very limited or no access at all.

APPLY: students were asked to do a big online assignment at home. There was no consideration that some students have no access to internet at home.

Intellectual Property

DEFINE: It is the product of one's own efforts and work. It applies to software programs, literary work, composed music or any creative product.

APPLY: A student copied a long article and Attributed to himself.

Authentication DEFINE: The act of establishing or confirming something as authentic, that is, that claims made by or about the subject are true.

APPLY: The teacher verified that the given artifact was not produced by the student as he said.

Cultural Diversity

DEFINE: The variety of human societies or cultures in a specific region, or in the world as a whole.

APPLY: The teacher did not consider the risk of the uniformization of culture that might ensue from the globalization.

application :students can download open sources programs if they couldn’t pay for programs :for example gimp can replace photoshop

Define :the ability to use, manage, assess, and understand technology.

Application :The teacher gives information about the technology and its usage to increase their knowledge and get more familiar with it

Cyberspace Define :a computer network consisting of a worldwide network of computer networks that use the TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission and exchange

application students and teachers uses cyberspace like internet which is a form of cyber space internet for researching purposes or for collaborative learning.
