ALYSE FLACK This year in ECCO,
this and last semester
both, I have really
found my place in the
community. I love the
friends I have made. I
will also cherish the
memories I have
made. Not only being
on executive board,
but working hard to
branch out and get
more involved in the
community has given
me an amazing sense
of belonging that I
have longed for.
TIFFANY SHAFFER
My favorite part about being in ECCO
is all the friends i have made in the
last year. Also, the chance to be put
into the classroom so early on.
ALEXIS SNYDER My favorite thing
about ECCO are
the friends I
have made
throughout the
year because I
truly believe that
these are friends
I will be having
throughout my
life. People in
ECCO help me
get through
some of the
hardest times of
my life.

My favorite part about being in ECCO is getting the
chance to take charge and become a leader, both
in my field placement and in my life. Also, you
can’t forget fun times with great people!
ALYSSA MOORE
My favorite thing about ECCO
is being able to make friends
easily! I know that the friends
that I made here, we’ll be close
forever.
ADRIENNE DEVORE
My favorite part about
ECCO was making so
many new, amazing
friends! I have also
enjoyed being in field
placement!
DANNY WATSON
My favorite part of ECCO was without
a doubt Curriculum night. It was
great to see so many kids get excited
about learning. I worked the Australia
station with Sara Rayburn, and our
game was for the kids to answer a
question, and then they got to peg me
with a ball. It was the sacrifice I was
willing to make for education. Overall
it was a great time, and at the end of
the night we got free pizza and a few
of us went to Dairy Queen, and it was
a great night overall.
KRISTEN TABESH
My favorite part of ECCO is
Field Placement and
Executive Board. I am so
proud of all of the events
that my branch has put on
this semester and all of the
hard work they have put
into this amazing
organization. I also am very
thankful for my placement
teacher, who has been
amazing mentor and
inspiration to me
CALEB

My favorite part of ECCO has obviously been the friends I
have made not only just in the Learning Community, but
also in the classrooms I have had the pleasure of
observing in. I have also loved being able to join

programs that it offers. We have so many hard working
hands! GO TEACHERS!

Field Placement this semester
taught me to be confident in my
classroom management, to stand
up for what I am passionate
about, and to have fun. By being
relaxed in the classroom,
students enjoy learning much
more. I also developed my
passion for education,
development, and growth.

ECCO has introduced me to some of the most amazing people I have ever met. The friendships I have made here are the ones that I know will last through college and beyond. This learning community has taught me so much about myself, and about the field of education though its amazing field placements. I am so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to be a part of this organization. It has made my first year at Bowling Green one of the best of my life.

A couple of weeks ago, I walked into my 4th grade
classroom and I noticed my supervisor teacher was
wearing a t-shirt that said “KEEP CALM and ROCK THE
TEST!” When she saw my confused look, she explained
that all the staff members are wearing these shirts to
get the students pumped for the OAA. Along with having
the staff members wear those shirts, the school had the
teachers and students decorate their doors and they had
a pep rally. I think it’s really awesome to use fun, creative
ways to get the students pumped for the OAA.
My supervisor teacher’s door.
Our students loved decorating
the door. They really loved
using lots of glitter too.
For the pep rally each classroom
had to make a poster with their
cheer on it. This was the 4th
grade cheer.
PARTY BUS SEMESTER
I enjoyed field placement this
semester! My kids are doing
science projects, and it feels so
cool to help them figure out
how to ask questions, be a
subject in their experiment,
and how to use Microsoft
Word. Also, we had a party
bus this semester… don’t
know why.

ECCO introduced
me to some of my

given me numerous

AMANDA LAMMERMEIER I absolutely loved both my field
placements this semester! It was
so great getting to do two
placements. I got to work with first
graders and third graders. Both
teachers were also first year
teachers and gaining knowledge
from them was incredible. I enjoy
every minute of these experiences.
I truly feel this semester has been
one of the best semesters of my
college years thus far and I cannot
wait for what’s in store.

From PCC to Urban Educators to ECCO!
The 4-year Journey comes to an end
When I was a freshman, ECCO/(PCC) was a deciding factor if I
was coming to BGSU.
Over the past four years; between the silliness, educational
opportunities, frustrations and full out rants, I have no
doubt that ECCO changed my college experience for the
better.
SARA RAYBURN I feel so grateful to have had the
opportunities to spend time in local

the great placements and curriculum night

good dose of the real world of teaching

Conference day!
I love being in this environment full of passionate, wonderful,
and intelligent people. I love being able to learn something
from my peers and field placement students every day. I love
being part of a group that is constantly supporting each other
and making each other better people with every interaction
we have. I truly believe my experiences in ECCO make me a
better person, and will make me a great teacher.

This semester I had the wonderful
opportunities to go on a spring break
trip seeing different contexts and
environments in which I could teach,
and I co-hosted a spring day camp at
Longfellow Elementary School.
COURTNEY POLLOCK
I joined ECCO for field
placement! It’s the
highlight of my week. I
also joined to make tons
of great friends!
Everyone is ECCO is
great and I can’t wait for
next year!
JESSICA WATTS What i love most about ECCO is how we are all very
professional and yet we still have fun. From living together
to time spent on the placement bus we really are a family.
ECCO has grown
with me through my
entire college
career. The
experiences,
friendships and
support that have
resulted are
entirely
irreplaceable. I
could not be more
proud to consider
myself a part of
this community. I
can’t wait to see
the wonderful and
exciting things life
has in store for
each of you!

I love living with the other ECCO kids. It’s great to know that I can cross the hall and get valuable life advice or go around a corner to get emotional support. It’s a great community!
Sami Slusher, Connor Goodpaster and I take that ever-classic ECCO selfie.

ECCO is more than an opportunity to put field placement
hours on a resume. It’s an experience that encourages
authentic and unique questioning and growth; One that
goes beyond professional development and into the realm
of personal, self-concept development.
CLAIRE GRGIC My favorite part of ECCO is the people. Everyone is so
kind and willing to help. Also, I really enjoy the
opportunities I get from ECCO especially field
experience!

The best part about ECCO is the field
experience it gives me a chance to get
out in schools and start teaching early
on and interact with other students
who are different from me and I love it!
