LANDSCHAFTSPARK DUISBURG-NORD“HANDS ON” INDUSTRIAL CULTURE
At Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, discover the iron-works, a true industrial culture landmark.
Industrial history, leisure and culture all abound on the 200-hectare site. There are numerous attractions to be found here such as a high-wire course, the diving gaso-meter and a climbing garden in the midst of former ore bunkers. In the evening, lighting designed by the British artist Jonathan Park transforms the ironworks into a fascinating spectacle. Explore this unique landscape on a tour with our guide or a former worker at the steel mill, who can tell you from his own experience how workers used to “slave away” here.

TIGER & TURTLE – MAGIC MOUNTAINTHE ONLY WALK-ON ROLLER COASTER IN THE WORLD
Discover the only roller coaster in the world where you can take a walking tour and find out what “Tiger and Turtle” is all about. The sculpture towers 20 metres high and can be seen from afar on top of Heinrich Hildebrand Höhe in the south of the city. Its shimmering silver curves beckon visitors from a distance. During the evening tour, you learn fascinating facts about this work of art – from the inception to the artists and its completion before a backdrop of glittering lights.

KAISERPFALZ AND VICINITY A STROLL THROUGH HISTORY
“duisburch” was one of the most important trading cities in the German Empire of the Middle Ages. This tour starts at Duisburg City Hall. After being presented information on Gerhard Mercator and city history, the group proceeds to the artistically designed subway station “Duisburg-Rathaus” at the town hall. Next stop: Ruhrort. LIGHT GUIDE DUISBURG AT NIGHT

On June 28, 1981, Horst Schimanski, Duisburg's Commissar, celebrated his baptism of fire in the celebrated TV crime series “Tatort”. His famous tatty parka is still cult. SEGWAY TOURS EXPERIENCE DUISBURG - FUN GUARANTEED Explore Duisburg in a different way: with a SEGWAY. Our guide will fill you in with exciting information on route. The northern tour leads along the river Ruhr to Land-schaftspark Duisburg-Nord. In the south, you will explore Sportpark Duisburg and Sechs-Seen-Platte. CITY HISTORY FOR CHILDRENTRAVELLING THROUGH THE PAST WITH “GERRY” MERCATOR
Hello children! Gerhard Mercator, the famous cartographer and astronomer, invites you on a tour of “his” Duisburg. He will show you what the city was like 500 years ago when he lived here. The route leads through the centre of the Old Town sur-rounding Town Hall, the Old Market and Salvatorkirche. Then “Gerry” takes you to Dreigiebelhaus. You will walk along the old city wall and have a look at Johannes-Corputius-Platz, where Kultur- und Stadthistorisches Museum is located. The “History Tour for Children” is especially fun with friends or with the entire school class.

The Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH (HKM) plant is located in Duisburg, the “steel heart” of the Ruhr Area. Ever since HKM was founded by Krupp Stahl AG and Mannes-mannröhren-Werke AG in 1990, the company has increasingly specialized in steel slab for flat products and round steel for pipes. Products are manufactured exclusively on behalf of the present-day shareholders – thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG, Salzgitter Mannesmann GmbH and Vallourec Tubes S.A.S.. We open our production sites exclusively to you.

Duration:Most of our guided and other tours are scheduled to last 2 hours. We will be glad to adjust the times to meet your individual desires. Please keep in mind that a guided tour should last at least 1.5 hours, otherwise we cannot guarantee that we will be able to convey all the information to you in the desired quality.
Language:For group tours, you have different language options. At present, we offer German, English, French, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. You can get detailed information on which tours can be offered in which language. There is a surcharge of EUR 10.00 per hour.
Number of participants:The maximum number of participants per guide / group can be found in the information box under the tour description. If your group is made up of a larger number of persons, it is necessary to book a suitable number of tour guides. In the case of tours that use busses, e.g. the City Tour, the number of participants depends on bus capacity.
OPEN DATESDates & tickets:Public guided tours take place on fixed dates. See the information box under the tour description or the schedule on pages 28-30. This is where you will also find all ticket purchase information.
Company tours:Company tours take place during business hours at Duisburg companies. As a result, special conditions must be met by participants such as minimum age. For further information, please refer to the information box under the respective guided tour description. Descriptions of each and every tour also depend on the current workflow at companies and can therefore differ from tour to tour and also be restricted to specific areas. Company tours are very popular. We therefore recommend reserving these well in advance.
Language:Open tours are in German.
Family ticket:Children accompanied by holders of the Duisburg Family Card can take part in the following guided tours free of charge: Duisburg City Centre, Duisburg Inner Harbour and Kaiserpfalz and vicinity.
