1. Categories

This document offers several methods to isolate defects or problems according to the symptoms observed.

We can classify the symptoms to several categories. The categories are very helpful for you to find

problems in different systems and its a general tool, not only used in the system described in thisdocument.

For different categories, we have different methods to solve problems. Most of the methods are

commonly used in all Mindray ultrasound systems but there might be slight differences when you use

them on different systems.

Category 1 Boot up related Fail to boot, or halted in certain

point of the boot progress.Category 2 Black screen Keyboard is functioning but there

is nothing displayed on the

monitor.

Category 3 Keyboard and trackball related Certain keys dont work.

Category 4 Lock up System halted during certain

operation.

Category 5 Image related The system is running well but

the image is abnormal.

Category 6 Intermittent problems The problem cannot be

reproduced according to the same

operation or handling. However,

the problem happens in a random

rate during using.

Category 7 Screen flicker Screen glinting or trembling

2. Boot up

3.1 Symptoms

When power on the machine, screen is black.

4. Keyboard and trackball related

4.1 Symptoms

Some keys are not functioning, trackball out of control, and nothing else abnormal

4.2Solution (keyboard)

Note:

The flow chart above only tell how to deal with the problem that keyboard cant function,

When meeting trackball out of control and nothing else abnormal, please check the connection between

Trackball and keyboard or connection between trackball (keyboard) and DSC board.

Change the keyboard PCB, or trackball

5. Lock up

5.1 Symptoms

When you press some keys the system locks up, and nothing else abnormal. Or can not wake up from

system dormant

Change the main board

6. Image related

6.1 Symptoms

Machine is working normally, but image is abnormal

Note: Some customers complain that the image quality is not good; generally, these problems can be

solved by adjusting the machine (such as monitor brightness, image parameters .)

Sometimes the defect of monitor itself can also cause the image display not good.


Some electronic or magnetic interference, probe failure, channel board failure, and main board failure.

7. Intermittent problems

7.1 Symptoms

Image with some ripples

7.2 Solution

Check the surrounding, including AC power input, is there any machines which will interfere with the

system. Do remember keep a good environment.

8.1 Symptoms

Screen glinting or trembling

8.2 Solution

Exchange the CRT. Or check the surrounding, including AC power input, is there any machines which

will interfere with the system. Do remember keep a good environment.
