When we were at FOX PARK POND we saw a lot of creatures. Some of the creatures consisted of crawfish, frogs, fish, dragonflies, and other sweet creatures. We also took the temperature and the pH. The hike took about 2-3 minutes long. Everybody seemed to like the pond.

when we got to run down the mountain. It felt great to run and be free. The scenery though was pretty amazing. For miles around all you could see were mountains, roads, and rivers. Then one of our AWESOMEST counselors , RICK, was there and he made the trip funnier, better, and super-duper.

RATTLESNAKEFor most of the people on the hike, they didn’t struggle or lag behind. Some of the people though, did have problems going up and down the mountain. Once we got to the TIPPY TOP, the view was magnificently BEAUTIFUL. Nick and I finished our lunches early, so we did something particularly amusing; we threw plums and apples off the ledge of the mountain. After we did that, part of the group went to the mud hole near some grass. My genius friend, Mr. Mitchelmen; thought the mud was only about 5 inches. To his surprise though, when he jumped in; it scaled up to about his perpendicular knees. Also, when he jumped; he didn’t just sink but also tripped and smacked his body on the mushy muck. Since he was already covered in mucky mud, he just figured” What the Hay” I’ll just go and get the pH and the temperature. When we started BOOKIN’ IT down the mountain, we were so, so, so fast; we just got down there early so we figured to wait for the SLOW POKES.

BAKER RIVER biotic:Crawfishhumans Abiotic:WaterSunlightAirSandMudRocks  pH:5 Temperature:78 These are some normal pedestrians just simply having a great time. The sand was extremely sandy and the color that it is. There were a lot of sticks that could hurt your

precious feet. Most of the people jumped off this insanely high rock(3 FEET actually) and said the water was refreshing. Devin M. and Douglas L. were digging holes in the sand and finding water.

WALTER NEWTONAbiotic particles:WaterSandAirRockssunlight Biotic particles:FishFrogsHumansPlantsLeavesInsects pH:5 Temperature:78 Friends were just hanging around on this gigantic waterfall. The water was very cold and felt extra special once you put it on your skin. I liked the waterfall because

it’s high and pours water out of its extreme awesomeness.

LIVERMOREAbiotic:WaterSunlightRocksAirsand Biotic:FishHumansTreessubatomic particles pH:5 Temperature:76˚F My friends thought that Livermore was extraordinarily refreshing as well as cold. They say

this because it was about 90˚F. the sand felt so hot and awesome between my toes.

InFoRmAtIoN RaTtLeSnAkE – We saw some really great views from the top of the mountain. There was a mud hole

that had a pH of about 4-4.5. The temperature was about 80˚F and the mud was nasty smelling. The breeze cooled us down for the way down the mountain. (Read our story on page

PoNdS- a pond is a good size pool of water. They can be man made, or they can be made by nature. The difference between man made and natural ponds is how they’re made. Man made ponds are made by people digging out the ground and simply filling it with water. Natural ponds are either made by a small river filling up a big hole, or beavers damming up a river. We visited Fox Park Pond, a beaver pond at the moats, and another beaver pond at Walter Newton.

StReAmS- a stream can carry water, rocks, sand, or just about anything it wants downstream. The current usually isn’t fast, and the water usually isn’t high. They’re important because they provide homes for animals and provide water for people and animals. Some of the places we went to were Glove Hollow Brook and possibly another place. Some of the organisms that we found were insects, hawk, and ducks.

RiVeRs - a river can hold and carry a lot more water than a stream, and is also much bigger. The current usually is pretty fast and strong. Rivers provide us with water to drink, a habitat for animals, food for both humans and animals, and a place to swim. The river that we visited was the Baker, and Pemigewassett River.

WeTlAnD - A wetland is an area within an area which is soaked with water. The soil is either permanently soaked, or just seasonally. Since so many animals and plants live in the Wetlands; they would all die out if the wetlands got polluted.

MaIn StReEtMain street was filled with different types of plants, people, and stores. We took pictures

of some of the abiotic and biotic things. We were planning on putting the pictures on the slide. It was really hot outside so we went swimming in the near river. The river was really rocky and not awesome. What was cool though was that the current was so strong, you could get pulled down the river if you were lying down. We also played baseball with a stick and an apple.
