Jesus presents himself as living water for her, able to satisfy a deeper thirst in her heart. Through his patience and compassion, he opens a new wellspring of God’s sustenance for her. How might we, like Jesus, be water for others in our thirsty world? We can take some cues from Jesus here. Jesus crossed boundaries of gender, ethnicity, and religious division. Jesus began in vulnerability, in need of hospitality from a stranger. His was a non-threatening, com- passionate presence. Jesus did not begin by speaking about himself or God, but entered into ordinary conversation with her. He first attended to her practical realities and concerns, which led to deeper dialogue. DIVINE SAVIOUR CHURCH Entrance: “I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS” 1. I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me and rest.

Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.” I came to Jesus as I was, so weary, worn and sad. I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.

2. I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give the living water; thirsty one, stoop down, and drink, and live.” I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life-giving stream; my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

Psalm: If today you hear His voice, harden not your heart.

Presentation: “FLOW RIVER FLOW” Refrain: Flow river flow, flow over me. O living water, poured out for free; O living water, flow over me. 1. You will be mine and I will be your God, for I will wash you

clean. And a new heart, a heart of flesh and feeling, I will place within you for your heart of stone.

2. The blind shall see, the mute shall find a voice, the lame shall leap for joy. Rivers will flow into dry and barren de-sert, flowers bloom in splendor, glory fill the land.

Holy Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest – Hosanna in the highest! Lamb of God Lamb of God – you take away – the sin of all the world – mise re-re nobis Bread of Life …… mise re-re nobis. Agnus Dei ……Dona nobis pacem Communion: "COME TO THE WATER”

1. O let all who thirst, let them come to the water. And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord: without mon-ey, without price. Why should you pay the price, except for the Lord?

2. And let all who seek, let them come to the water. And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord: without money, without strife. Why should you spend your life, except for the Lord?

3. And let all who toil, let them come to the water. And let all who are weary, let them come to the Lord: all who labor, without rest. How can your soul find rest, except for the Lord?

“TURN TO ME” Refrain: Turn to me, O turn, and be saved, says the

Lord, for I am God; there is no other, none be-side me. I call your name.

1. I am God who comforts you; who are you to be afraid of flesh that fades, is made like the grass of the field soon to wither. (refrain)

2. Listen to me, my people; give ear to me, my nation: a law will go forth f from me and my justice for a light to the people. (refrain) 3. Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look at the earth down

below. The heavens will vanish like smoke and the earth will wear out like a garment. (refrain)

Recessional: “LIFT HIGH THE CROSS” Refrain: Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim,

till all the world adore his sacred name. 1. Come, brethren follow where our Savior trod, Our King

victorious, Christ, the Son of God. (refrain) 2. Led on their way by this triumphant sign, the hosts of God

in conqu'ring ranks combine. (refrain)

Did you know? Be aware of poison dangers in the home More than 90% of all poisonings happen in homes. Parents should know the top risks for children (especially children who still put things in their mouths!) and work to eradicate them. Lead poisoning is high on the list, especially for older homes with lead paint or dust. Button batteries are small and shiny and lurk in many toys and electronics that litter our homes. Swallow-ing these can be deadly for children. The same is true of house-hold cleaners like laundry or dishwasher detergent pods. For more information, visit https://www.nsc.org/home-safety/safety-topics/other-poisons.

Giving Options to your Parish Gifts from an IRA If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly from your IRA account to the parish. This law allows you to transfer any amount up to $100,000 annually directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distri-bution. The transfer does not generate taxable income or a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemized your tax deductions. Your gift can satisfy all or part of your required mini-mum distribution. Gifts of Stock Gifts of appreciated assets such as stock are an excellent way for you to make a charitable gift. Stocks may be transferred directly to the Archdiocese for the benefit of parish, school or favorite Catholic ministry. These gifts will not affect your cash flow, and they provide the following tax benefits: • A possible charitable deduction to help you save on taxes • Bypass of federal and state capital gains taxes • Avoidance of the tax on net investment income From a tax perspective, a gift of appreciated assets makes good sense. You can make the capital gains taxes optional, achieve significant tax savings and support our programs. Please contact Brooke Glazer at 213-637-7381 or [email protected].
