The ICT sector is developing rapidly.

Based on result of the “Digital Living” study, transmission rates in urban areas will reach well over 50 Mbps and in the premium segment more then 100 Mbps by 2015.

Digitization and connection progress with speed

Unequal access opportunities

Equal opportunity for participation in the information society.

Not all people are equally involved in this development.

On the one hand, there are those who have access to the digital infrastructure and are familiar with using the new technologies.

On the other hand, there are those who are cut off from the information and knowledge society.

The gulf between these two groups, the so-called digital divide , is widening.

IP Traffic Forecast

Annual global IP traffic will exceed three-quarters of a zettabyte (767 exabytes) in four

years.

There are four key enablers of hyperconnectivity, and all four are poised for strong

growth.

Global IP traffic will quadruple from 2009 to 2014

IP traffic in Central and Eastern Europe will reach 2.5 exabytes per month by 2014 at a

CAGR of 38 percent.
