Preface This is the help guide for installation of fingerprint devices i.e. Cogent CSD 200 and Legend fingerprint device of Precision API for BOB Kiosk project

Purpose This document gives the flow of the installation of Cogent CSD 200 and Legend fingerprint device for version 2.3.6 with NFIQ. The package installation consists of new version of Precision API version 2.3.6 with Java jdk 1.7 update 7, Vc++ redistributable 2008, Legend drivers, Cogent CSD 200 drivers, browser setting vbs file, java policy, certificate and URL in favorites of IE for KIOSK login. This is single click installation package used for ease of installation.

Fingerprint Device Installation Procedure

If you are using Windows 7 you need to do the following setting.

Go to Control Panel User Accounts and Family Safety User Accounts

And then Click on “Change User Account Control Settings” and do the following setting

Drag the horizontal bar to “Never Notify” and Click on ‘OK” as shown below

NOTE: If your Operating System is Windows XP you are not required to do above setting and if your

Antivirus is “ON” then kindly Turn off until your installation gets finished

Copy “BOBKiosk_v2.3.6” folder from given “CD” or FTP Link “to ‘C: \’ (C-Drive).

Ensure you have logged in with the user having administrative rights.

Ensure Internet is connected before proceeding.

In “BOBKiosk_v2.3.6” folder, Right click on ‘BOBKIOSK.bat’ file and click on ‘Run as

administrator’ as shown below.

If the window is coming asking “Do you want to allow the following program to do

changes to your computer” – Click on Yes.

If your operating system is Windows XP then you double Click “‘BOBKIOSK.bat’” to run

the batch file.

Following prompt will be displayed and Press any key to start the installation process.

If you are getting below message

“Administrative permissions required. Detecting Administrative Permissions....

Insufficient Administrator Previledges....Please login in as Administrator.... Exiting the setup....

Press any key to continue . . .”

It means you don’t have admin rights on machine or you have directly double click on batch program.

Please ensure you have admin rights on machine or you right lick on batch program and select option

“Run as Administrator”

After pressing any key for installation the following prompt will be displayed to uninstall previous

version of BOBBMA Client API , Validity Sensor legend drivers, java jdk and jre. And if none of

the instance of the software is available then it will display “No instance available”.

1. Java Setup

After above step, Java SDK 1.7 update 7 will start installation automatically and follow the steps

shown below to configure and setup java.

Java (JDK and JRE) installation process begins.

a) Click on “Next”

b) Note: Click on small drop down beside “Development Tools” and select “This feature, and

all sub features, will be installed on local hard drive”

c) Similarly Click on small drop down beside “Source Code” and select “This feature, and all sub

features, will be installed on local hard drive”.

d) Similarly Click on small drop down beside “Public jre” and select “This feature, and all sub

features, will be installed on local hard drive”.

Ensure you are also installing Java Run Time Environment…..

After installing JRE you will get a Successful message. Click on “Close”

NOTE: Ensure that java Policy is copied in java installation folder in your system as shown in

screenshot below 3 File(s) copied.

2. VC++ Installation

- After successful installation of Java, automatically VC ++ Redistributable 2008 installation

process starts as shown below and Click on “Next”.

Check the box “I have read and accept the license terms” and click on “Install” as shown below.

After Installation, Click on “Finish”.

NOTE : If VC++ 2008 x86 is already installed on your computer, then click on Cancel.

After successful installation of VC ++ Redistributable 2008.Browser setting required for Internet

Explorer will be done automatically as shown below.

4. Install Precision SDK

After browser setting, BOB BMA Client API will start to install and following wizard will open

for installing BOB BMA Client API, Cogent and Legend drivers as shown below and read the

instruction in the prompt and Click on “OK”.

NOTE: If BOB BMA Client is already installed then it will uninstall and read the following

instructions on the prompt shown below and click on “OK” and then click on “Close” after

successful uninstallation.

Following prompt will open and now click on “I Agree” to install BOB BMA Client SDK

as shown below.

5. Install Cogent and Legend drivers

Now Click on “Next” as shown below.

After above step , Click on “Install’ as shown below.

Click on “Next” to install Cogent drivers as shown below.

Click on “Finish” as shown below.

After Cogent drivers installation , following prompt will open for legend drivers installation.

Click on “Close” as shown below.

Installation is successful and now it will prompt to reboot your system. Click on “Yes”.

After Reboot , Open the folder “BOBKiosk_v2.3.6”

6. Test Device

Ensure you have logged in with the user having administrative rights.

In “BOBKiosk_v2.3.6” folder, Right click on ‘Test_device.bat’ file and click on ‘Run as

administrator’ as shown below.

After opening the “Test_device.bat” , following Internet Explorer window will open

and Click on “Allow blocked content”

Now Click on “Yes” as shown below.

After Clicking on “Yes” following window will open to capture your finger print to test whether

your scanner is working properly or not.

Ensure that you have connected or plugged in the device to your system.

Keep your finger on device till it captures 3 times.

Note: - Use same finger 3 times for capturing.

Click on “OK” after getting the following window.

If you get following message then it means “Cogent device” is successfully installed and scanner is

working properly.

Swipe your finger three times with same finger at constant speed

If you get above message then it means Legend device is successfully installed and scanner is working

properly.

If you get above message means same finger is not swiped or not swiped correctly. Please try again
