For internal communication to operate to its potential within an organisation, it is essential to have business wide support and employee engagement, from the top level down.

The challenge for internal communicators is to first establish an understanding amongst senior management, stakeholders and company employees of the value internal communication contributes to the organisation, and then to follow up on this by demonstrating tangible results. By clearly delineating the ways in which internal communication meets business objectives and delivers return on investment, it is possible to shift the perception of internal communication so that it is seen as playing a strategic role rather than an operational one.

About the workshop:

This hands-on workshop will provide an approach and ideas for helping your employees to stay involved and engaged. The facilitators will present case studies and suggestions and you’ll have an opportunity to develop a framework for your own organisation.

About your workshop leaders:

Angela Scaffidi

Angela established Scaffidi Hugh-Jones six years ago. Prior to this, Angela worked with McKinsey & Company as a communication specialist. She also worked with Porter Novelli Australia.

She is passionate about supporting the change process within large organisations - from introducing a new vision, business process or strategy to managing the complexity of post-merger communication. She is experienced at developing communication strategy, delivering training and facilitating strategy workshops.

She has won a range of state, national and international awards for her work in communication, including two International Public Relations Association (IPRA) Golden World awards. Angela lectures in the post-graduate communication course at RMIT University.

Romarna Dichiera

Throughout her career Romarna has worked for a range of organisations in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors to provide services in communication and human resources.

Romarna’s expertise in internal communication, cultural and organisational change, stakeholder engagement and change communication is combined with a desire to keep communication real. She has an undergraduate qualification in Science and completed postgraduate studies in Public Relations at the RMIT University where she was awarded the postgraduate prize.
