Join Two’s a Crowd to discover three of the most radiant cities in Central Europe. We will experience the architectural, artistic and cultural heritage of Prague, Vienna and Budapest firsthand wile enjoying the company of fellow solo travellers. This will be a relaxed-pace and short small-group tour, with plenty of free time to shop at bustling local markets, sample local cuisine, admire the endless stunning vistas and stroll through gorgeous manicured gardens.Prague is the City of a Hundred Spires and the capital of the Czech Republic. Wandering the cobbled streets, crossing St Charles Bridge and visiting the City Castle will definitely get you in the mood to then explore the Czech Republic further. Next we will head south to the Cesky Krumlov. This picturesque medieval town dates back to the 13th century and is like something out of a fairytale. Cesky Krumlov means ‘crooked meadow’, which is befitting of a town that’s nestled in a sharp bend of the Vltava River. We will explore the city’s castle and its fabulous masquerade hall, where you can climb the tower for stunning aerial views of the town and surrounding rolling hills.

We then return to Prague for another night before taking the fast train to Vienna, the capital of Austria. Here we visit one of the world’s most important opera houses and the heart of classical Viennese culture. Art lovers have a vast choice of museums, from the Albertina to those located in the Museum Quarter. The architecture around the city is simply unbelievable and a stroll past the Danube Palace, Parliament and many churches along the river is well worth it. In the evening, perhaps head out for some Viennese cuisine or catch a show at one of the many theatres and concert halls. Last, but definitely not least, we head to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Since the collapse of Communism, Budapest has experienced something of a renaissance. The grand architecture and boulevards evoke a time gone by, while glamorous stores and glitzy restaurants make this one of the truly great cities of Europe. It’s also the spa capital of the world so if you want to do nothing more than soak all day, you won’t be judged here. This is a great little tour that will entice all of your senses.

Day 1 - Saturday 4th July 2020

PRAGUE (D) If you have already been in Prague for 2 nights, as part of the Russia and Eastern Europe solos tour, then today is your own to further explore the city at leisure. Alternately, if starting the tour in Prague, Two’s a Crowd can assist in organising some Prague city touring- to make sure you do not miss out on any of the highlights that this beautiful city has on offer. Tonight the group will enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant.

Day 2 - Sunday 5th July 2020

CESKY KRUMLOV DAY TOUR (B,L)Today we will depart from Prague and enter Bohemia to visit the picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov, situated above the meandering valley of the upper Vltava river. Cesky Krumlov has enormous appeal as an urban area and has been included among the monuments on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage list. We will have a guided tour of the castle and town’s old centre, before enjoying a group lunch at a quaint local restaurant. Next you can wander around and admire Cesky Krumlov at leisure. Later in the afternoon we will return to Prague.

Day 3 - Monday 6th July 2020

PRAGUE TO VIENNA (B)Today we will leave the Czech Republic and head to the “City of Waltz”. The train journey will be incredibly scenic. Upon arrival in to Vienna, we will check in to our hotel and take a guided afternoon tour of Austria’s lovely capital.

Day 4 - Tuesday 7th July 2020

VIENNA (B)After breakfast today we will set off to explore the beautiful city of Vienna in depth. Along the way we will visit the Hofburg Palace, which was once the seat of the Ausro-Hungarian Empire. We will also view majestic Belvedere Palace, the Gothic spires of St Stephen’s Cathedral and many other reminders of Vienna’s imperial past. The afternoon is your own to enjoy at leisure.

Day 5 - Wednesday 8th July 2020

VIENNA TO BUDAPEST (B) Today we journey to Budapest on the fast train. This afternoon we will have a city sightseeing tour to explore one of the many fascinating areas. The rest of the day is then free to explore the “Paris of the East”, shop along the Vaci Utca, nibble a delicious slice of apple strudel, sip an excellent Hungarian wine, or perhaps join one of the optional excursions available.

Day 6 - Thursday 9th July 2020

BUDAPEST (B, D) In 1873, the twin cities of Buda and Pest joined with ancient Obuda to form a new, unified city, Budapest. Charming and beautiful, the city was declared a World Heritage site in 1987. Our morning sightseeing tour includes views of all the main attractions: The Parliament, Royal Palace and the Castle Hill area, Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, Heroes Square, and Gellert Hill with its Citadel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this exciting city, before meeting tonight to enjoy a group farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
