Detail / long description of skill

1.Microcontroller, my thesis was home security with atmel 89s51. IR trap for thief, connected to cellphone, PSTN phone, can used for home automation (AC, light, rolling door, password door)

I repaired 160 units of hospital alarm. This unit has buttons for calling nurse and doctor. All unit connected to PC and big display at central room via RS 485. Doctor and nurse can monitor patient room. Also repaired PC to RS 485 interface.

I Build IR remote control for bank costumer counter with AVR uC, JVC protocol. This IR can also work at scoreboard and electronic rolling door. (for Gamaneca company)

build project with CMOS camera connected to AVR for collor tracking robot, also PC can view image from camera, true collor 16 bit, this robot can developed for industrial purpose, i build this project to help my friend at thesis. i use OV6620 and OV7620 CMOS camera 30 fps, true collor 16 bit.

This OV7620 unit attached to UGM rocket competition 2013, and We won 2nd rank. They use my

work on OV7620 at collor tracker robot project and 2009 rocket competition.

2. PC repair. For very long time I worked at PC repair, before graduating from university, more than

5 years. I repair Power Supply Unit, disk drive etc.

3. Electronic Repair.

4. C, Delphy and Assembly, VHDL. I started to make software since I was 15 years old. I helped my friend made game cheat software. Software can lock some variables at game software so game player can’t take damage or hurt. (1995).

5. Analog and Digital Design,

I built switching power supply convert 5 V to 120 V for nixie tube (at 2008)

Won rocket national competition at 2009, the biggest competition for university. Got 2nd rank, after working very hard for 1 month and got very strict deadline. Rocket measures acceleration, air

pressure, temperature, speed, humidity, and rocket shock. Rocket can travel at 7G acceleration.

Data are sent by RF transmitter to laptop, so it can record and make graphic for further analysis

6. Reverse Engineering

LCD projector, LCD monitor, CRT monitor, CRT television etc. Just for pleasure to undersand latest technology, each part / component of it.

7. FPGA, I program cyclone altera for PWM with quartus FPGA, I built VGA controller which can draw line and box, straight into CRT / LCD monitor from FPGA cyclone.

9. Electronics Tutor. I teach my junior at my college from very basic. Including solder electronic component. He is an IT student so he start learn electronic from zero. I teach him until he become advance. After learn from me for 4 month he join international ISO robotic olyimpic 2011, and got gold medal. He built flying robot. And we still good team mate now.

11. PC Interfacing - WiFi communication, send high speed data from uC (AVR) directly into access point without using PC. Can communicate uC to other uC using wifi (ad hoc mode). uC can send data into TCP server which very far from location.

PC interfacing - Anti jam GPS GLONASS receiver. This is my little experiment of GPS GLONASS receiver. Further development of this experiment is design crime security for women. This unit will send longitude and latiitude of crime location into army server. This unit communication to PC or uC use RS 232. We can use GSM module to communication into army server in real product.

Working Experience

After I graduated I work as a freelancer of electronic designer since august 2007 up to now. I carry out projects from companies which need special electronics equipment. Several companies offer me a job with good salary, but I choose to be a freelancer in electronics designer because I really love electronics. And I feel electronic has huge challenges, and I do love all challenges since

I was a kid.

I got family problem when I study at college, I can’t concentrate at study, I did drift race, martial art, break 9 brick with one punch, break sand sack from biggest truck tires with punch and inner power, strongest person at my University Gymn, very good lead guitar player. My dream is as strong as special force soldier, but I think I still not success yet. Even I can run 10 km without stop at past. Those activity made me graduate very late, but please don’t underestimate me because

my academic record is not good, becouse I defeat lot cumlaude students at national rocket competition and international robot competition. And my CV lot better than cumlaude student. So please don’t judge me from my academic record. Even I’m not good at academic but I better than lot cumlaude students at real world.

Before I graduated from the undergraduate study program I worked as technician at Internet cafe. I repaired all electronic equipment like PC power supply, UPS, monitor, PC hardware, and

software. I worked at Highway Internet cafe and Phoenix Internet cafe. I got more than 5 year of those experience before I graduated.

Detail / long description of skill

1. Microcontroller, my thesis was home security with atmel 89s51.

I build security system that work better than usual security system. This new security system is

designed to give information to system user if an intruder is detected. This system uses IR detector to trap an intruder. After an intruder is detected by IR detector, uC in this security system will call the system user by telephone line. So the intruder does not realize that his presence is detected, and this gives enough time for the system user to arrest the intruder, with help from other persons if necessary.

This security system asks password to the system user so other person cannot access the security

system. After the system user enters password with DTMF signal, the system user can activate or disable the whole system, change password, change user telephone number etc.

In future development, this system can be designed to monitor and control all electrical systems

in house or factory, including fire alarm system. This additional function does not need a lot of additional circuit. And that will be not difficult for designer. So user can turn on the AC before entering the house or factory. And it can also know immediately if his factory is on fire. So fire

can be extinguished immediately. This system can also be designed to work with water spray crane, so fire can be handled automatically. This project is my thesis at bachelor degree.

I repaired 160 units of hospital alarm when I was working at Zetalink. This unit has buttons for calling nurse and doctor. All unit is connected to PC and big display at central room via RS 485. So each medical worker at hospital can recognize problem from patient. I also repaired PC to RS 485 interface.

i planed to attach this camera module at rocket 2009 competition, but the rule prohibited advance device at rocket, i also prepare GLONASS/GPS module for rocket but the rule didn't allow advance device at 2009 competition.

Read and write SDcard/MMC for video recording and save other data. SDcard is very fast and small device, able for video recording, and other fast data recording. simpler than USB device and no

need driver to read it. i think SDCard is excelent for fast recording like video recording or similiar purpose.

Also worked with ISD audio recording IC, LCD, hall effect current censor (30 A current max). build sms transmitter with C55 for transmit data into sms gateway modem. Also helped my friend build RFid equipment for his thesis.

2. PC interfacing. I build relay for school amplifier that can turn on from parallel PC. Announcement is recorded at PC with software. Than software will play announcement at specific

time depending on user setting. Software is made by delphi. Software also turns on amplifier each time needed from parallel port. If amplifier turns on 24 hour that will be a waste of electric energy.

I also build interfacing PC to microcontroller with serial RS 232 so microcontroller can send information and byte to PC. And PC can command microcontroller. This also makes easy for debug process since PC can look into variable of microcontroller while debugging. This system is

designed to substitute PLC. It works just like PLC but at lower price and reports information to PC, and PC can command microcontroller too.

I spend a lot of time to read new interfacing technology, like making MP3 player (use VNC1L chip).

VNC1L chip can work become USB host, read flash disk from its USB host port. And communication with PC from USB port. I understand interfacing USB with virtual com (FTDI chip).

3. PC repair. For very long time I worked at PC repair, before graduating from university, more than 5 years. I repair Power Supply Unit, disk drive etc. I understand PSU schematic so I can explain how it works, that makes easier to repair PSU because I can analysis like designer of PSU. I change processor if needed, test graphic card, test sound card, etc.

4. Electronic Repair. I enjoy reading electronic schematic and understand how it works for each component. I read a lot of TV and monitor schemmatic, and analysis every active and passive

component. I understand other device like digital camera that have embedded part. I learn from

schematic manual how each device works. Even sometimes I read schematic that needs a lot of

time because we need to read datasheet also. And each complex service manual has hundreds of document pages. And also IC datasheet usually has hundreds of document pages. Like at 32 inch CRT TV. But the problem at repair electronic is classic, so hard to find IC or spare part for damaged device. Especially at country like Indonesia. I really enjoy read schematic because I can understand the way designer think. So I can make better design when build design project. I built

guitar sound effect (distortion) for pleasure. I found guitar effect schematic form internet.

5. C, Delphy and Assembly. My favorite language is C, because it is middle level and easy to touch low level. But sometimes I use Delphi to build interfacing software. I learned to use C, Delphi and Assembly for interfacing and microcontroller job. I started to make software since I was 15 years old. I helped my friend make game cheat software. Software that lock some variables at game software so game player can’t take damage or hurt. This cheat software build

at 1995. That was software run for operating system at that time (DOS). But now I more enjoy to

do hardware and electronic job.

I like Codevision AVR, and allways use it. i heard it can program 16 and 32 bit processor, and i want to try it with my friends.

6. Analog and Digital Design,

I won rocket national competition at 2009, the biggest competition for university. My team got no

2, after working very hard for 1 month and got very strict deadline. Rocket measures acceleration,

air pressure, temperature, speed, humidity, and rocket shock. Rocket can travel at 7G acceleration.

Data are sent by RF transmitter to laptop, so it can record and make graphic for further analysis.

My university won national rocket competition again at 2013 2nd rank. They use my work at on

OV7620 at collor tracker robot project and 2009 rocket competition. They applicate my

camera into air photography from rocket from the sky.

I build switching power supply convert 5 V to 120 V for nixie tube when I was working at Zetalink. After that my project built battery charger connected to solar cell. We also built special power

supply for robot that required zero current when short circuit was detected than back to normal condition immediately after short circuit remove.

7. Reverse Engineering

After repairing and reading schematic of lot of electronic equipment for years, this has made me able to reverse engineer most of it. I only fail when datasheet cannot be found at internet. I can understand every component after analyzing it after several days. And now I learn RF reverse engineer, so I can prove that I am good enough to work at electronic design. Reverse engineer includes LCD projector, LCD monitor, CRT monitor, television etc.

8. FPGA, I program cyclone altera for PWM with quartus FPGA, and I think FPGA is lot faster and flexible compare with ARM and other 32 bit processor. Have video signal processing wizard, and digital signal processing wizard. I built VGA controller which can draw line and box, straight into CRT / LCD monitor from FPGA cyclone.

9. RF VHF UHF Its a pleasure for me to read RF schematic and discuss it with my friend. My RF project was pro TV transmitter. I m not lead engineer at there. But I can learn how to make VHF -

UHF transmiter and receiver. I also build VHF vackar VCO, Aircraft Airband Receiver at VHF. 10. Electronics Tutor. I teach my junior at my college from very basic. Including solder electronic

PORTFOLIO OF ELECTRONIC TUTOR

I was electronic tutor at 2011. Teach Andika Pramantha Yudha from zero until advance. He is an IT student

so He really don’t know anything about electronic when He start study from me.From soldering leson until

LCD, AVR microcontroller, ADC, temperature sensor, AT command and RF module. I teach him SDCard,

MMC, CMOS video camera attach to microcontroller for rocket, RF module for rocket. But it was really

bad luck for us becouse the rule of rocket not allow video camera, only allow one shot camera. So we

have no point at all even video camera lot harder than one shot camera. Very disapointing result for all of

us even that not our fault at all. It’s a good work at rocket but luck not on our side. Very disapointing

result.

After learn from me I suggest him to join my project build FPGA VGA controller (simple VGA card) and PWM

with FPGA, but his decision was join international robotic olimpiad. He succed and get gold medal, and we

make big celebration for it. He made flying robot,

4 years together at one university big team of competition make me have lot good friend, from lecturer and

from best student who like electronic competition. I have another student also become master of rocket,

FPGA and telemetry.

Now He get his master scholarship at NTUST (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology) and still

study at there.

Translation 2 medals, gold and silver, brought home by UGM robotic team at IRO 2011 internatinal robotic olympiad,

at Tarumanegara university, in the end of 2011. 100 team from 13 country around the world, from South

Korea, FIlipina, SIngapore, Japan, China, Canada, Malaysia, US, New Zeland etc.

At this competition UGM sent 2 team at creative robot category and indonesiana category. Boyo Instument

get gold medal built flying robot and Gamaro got silver medal with their dancing robot.

Student at Boyo instument from IT is Andika Pramanta Yudha, from Elins are Rossena Karisma Rasul,

Christian Antonia LP, Rangga KUrniawan, M Zaim Abdilah, Eviyan Fajar Anggara, Firdhaus Azhar, ANggoro

Wibisono and LAtifah Noor.

Leader of boyo instument Christian Antonia LP said at this robot competition his team make 2 robot,

quadcopter (named si pitung) and explorer robot (named paijo). Quadcopter flying robot can bring car robot.

Those robot designed to go to disaster location and take picture from air. At disaster location quadcopter

can bring car robot which can go to disaster victim location, and send athmosphere data, temperature,

consentration of posoning gas etc.

Pro TV Transmiter Video Modulator

I make pro TV transmiter when I was work at Surya Research/University at Tangerang. I was not lead engineer at there, but I solder that TV Transmiter. From that project I can learn a lot of VHF and UHF transmiter and receiver. That TV transmiter contain LO (local oscilator), Filter, Video Modulator, Audio Modulator, RF driver amp. RF amp.

AGC Unit (PCB layout) Protection unit use AVR uC This pro TV amp unit is low cost unit. But have 1 year waranty. And design able to bring data from uC to GPRS transmiter. The data contain temperature of this unit, SWR, current, voltage etc. This ability very

important because we can monitor this TV transmiter from distance. So if there is not healthy condition, We are able to detect it before it make damage to this TV transmiter (from our RF lab) This pro TV transmiter run at highest channel of UHF but able to work at VHF and low frequency of UHF, by tune it at our lab. Even this transmiter only can tune by our engineer.

This Aircraft Airband Receiver can receive Aeroplane communication at VHF with AM and FM modulation. I worked at this project at Surya Research/University Lab. Actually this project only for experiment at VHF receiver device, make skill better before work at higher level of RF project. Vackar VCO is low cost VCO with very stable frequency, very low drift frequency. But the negative consequency is, it only work at VHF and low UHF. I build this project because we have low budget for lab equipment and RF Frequency Generator (AFG) is very expensive for indonesia. It cost more than 250 USD. So We have to make our own AFG for reduce budget.

PORTFOLIO OF CYCLONE FPGA

Gunawan Sinariadi sold cheap Altera FPGA development board and USB Blaster FPGA downloader to

Digital Laboratorium at Gadjah Mada University. He sell this FPGA device at low price (40 USD) but He can

still use this FPGA development board after he sold it.

He made VGA controller with this FPGA development board to prove this device can work fine. VGA

controller can write directly to VGA monitor from cyclone altera FPGA chip without additional IC. At

photograph abnove He draw diagonal line into VGA monitor. This project also can write some word and low

resolution image.

He also make PWM device with cyclone FPGA for example of this product. The FPGA development board

company didn’t make example for this cyclone Altera product. So He need to make project example by

himself.

Portfolio of Wifi communication

This experiment can send high speed data from uC (AVR) directly into access point without using PC. Can communicate uC to other uC using wifi (ad hoc mode). uC can send data into TCP server which very far from location. More than 500 km as long there is internet connection. I worked with this

project when I was hire by FloatWay System company. This comunication method is cheaper than GSM transciever/receiver when we have WiFi at location.

The receiver is a TCP server can located very far from uC. Can be at other city or country. If we use GPRS transmiter/receiver we have to buy cellphone card for each device. But with WiFi we don’t need to do that as long we have WiFi connection. So this method can be cheaper at WiFi spot location. And right not We can use long range WiFi for wider place. We plan to use this technology at coal mines. Ussually at coal mines,They also install long range WiFi at there.
