ADDRESSED TO THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY

BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS

In a letter dated September 25, 2019, Mayor J. Roy Oliver, Township of Maurice River, and

Penny Wells, President of MRTES Board of Education, requested that the Board of Chosen

Freeholders of Cumberland County petition Governor Murphy to support the concept of home

rule with regard to refraining from endorsing any legislation which would cause the

abandonment of local elementary school districts in favor of larger regional school districts.

In a letter dated October 8, 2019, West Windsor Township Council informed the Board of

Chosen Freeholders of the adoption of Resolution 2019-R220A urging New Jersey Senators and

Representatives to take action to protect all Americans from mass shootings. West Windsor

Township Council urged the Board of Chosen Freeholders to adopt a similar resolution to

emphasize the importance of this issue throughout New Jersey.
