Creating a Works Cited Page

What?
A Works Cited page is a listing of all the bibliographies (sources) that you used in composing a written piece of work.
Why?
• To give credit to the author of your research
• To allow your reader to look up further details about your research
When?
• Every time you use research to help support a piece of writing
How?
• Maintain bibliographies for each of the sources you use to complete your research.
• Alphabetize your bibliographies.• Type your bibliographies in the form of a list.• Use a hanging indent for each
bibliography.
Hanging Indent
• A hanging indent is when the second line of a bibliography is indented. Look at the example below
Georges, Henry. How to Fix a Motorcycle. New York: Princeton Publishing Co, 1990.
Works Cited Type the words Works
Cited, centered at
the top of the page.
Remember to capitalize W
and C.
Alberts, Jennifer. Cats. Atlanta: Southern Printing Press, Inc., 2003.
Banks, Bethany. The World of Mammals. New York: Scholastic Press, 1999.
Smith, Jeffrey. Domesticated Pets. Harrisburg: Pennsylvania Press, 1997.
Zelensky, James. How to Train Your Cat. Columbus: Books Are Us Printing, 1995.
Remember to alphabetize each bibliographies
Remember to use a hanging indent

Only the W and C should be capitalized.
Each bibliography should NOT be numbered.
3. Each bibliography needs to be alphabetized.
