P ro d u c t : S TA R F I LT E R S a n d S R In Beverage Industry: PVPP can be used as stabilizer and clarifier for beers, wines and fruit juices in beverage industry. Alcoholic drinks with low degree, which are brewed from floral material such as wheat, corn and hops, are abundant in proteins and polyphenols. Proteins can form complexes with polyphenols under certain condition. The complexes will participate to make beverage turbid and seriously effect color, flavor, foam and shelf-span of beverage. To improve the stability of beverage, the center of the method is to remove proteins and polyphenols off to prevent the complexes formation. There are PVPP absorption- fiteration method, silica gel absorption- fiteration method and protease decomposition method. Complexes formed from PVPP with polyphenols will be participated or absorbed and then be filtered out. The outstanding advantages of PVPP is shown as following: high selectivity of absorption to polyphenols, low dosage, short contact time with beer, no effect on foam and flavor, thorough removal from beer, can be used together with other materials, great improvement of beer stability. PROPERTIES: Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone is often called as crosslinked PVP, or insoluble PVP. It appears as white or light yellow, free flowing hygroscopic powder, odorless or with faint characteristic odor. It is insoluble in water, alkali, acid and common organic solvents. It has strong swellability and can complex with polyphenols, carboxylic acid and other compounds with low molecular weight SPECIFICATIONS Appearance : A white to yellowish white powder Peroxides(as H2O2) : 400ppm max Water-soluble substances : 1.0% max Impurity : 10ppm max Heavy metals : 10ppm max Loss on drying : 5% max Sulphated Ash : 0.1% max Nitrogen content : 11.0% – 12.8% Particle size : 30 microns Circa ( Starfilter SR : 100 microns Circa ) Shelf life : 2 years from production date

Short presentation on Starfilter S and SR advantages
Scientific researchers have created advanced new NVP production methodology. GBL method, is different from the actual acetylene method but also have done large amount of work in the NVP polymerization initiator mechanism and in the NPV amine hydrolyze catalyst selection. The process flow of acetylene method is much longer. The monomer NVP is subjected to acetylene aldehyde addition, 1.4-ethyl-acetylene two mellow catalytic hydrogenations,1.4- butylene-glycol catalysis dehydrogenation, butyrolactone ammoniation and pyrrolidone alkalyne addition and so on five procedures and synthesized into PVP. The GBL process is short, it mainly includes amine hydrolyzed and Dehydrated procedures. Acetylene method is relatively mature. The GBL method is not mature in Catalyst aspect. Operation Condition The major procedures of acetylene method require high pressure and temperature, the operational condition is rigorous. GBL method generally carries out under normal pressure and temperature, the operational conditions is at room temperate. Material Cost The main raw materials of acetylene method are :acetylene, formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen, etc. The price and cost of raw material is low, the source is convenient, GBL as raw materials, the price and cost is relatively higher. Equipment Cost The process flow of acetylene method is long, the quantity of equipment it needs is large. Moreover, high pressure operation has relatively high requirement for equipments. Equipments investment is relatively great GBL method needs a few simple equipments , and its investment is also lower than acetylene method! This success breaks the market monopolization, and a large number of Consumers get benefits.
