Keys and Controls (2/2)

Naviwheel

Nokia N78 supports a touch sensitive Naviwheel for fast scrolling through multimedia content. This key is integrated in the 5-way scroll navigation key.

Supported applications and use cases are:

• Nokia Nseries Music Player => fast scrolling through play lists, tracks, artists

• Nokia Multimedia Gallery => fast scrolling through photos, videos

• Multimedia Menu => rotate the menu items

The Naviwheel can be accessed by moving a finger around the 5-way scroll navigation key ring.

There is a setting to activate Naviwheel:

• Menu>Tools>Settings>General>Navi wheel

Gallery

Last captured: The last stored image or video is opened in full screen viewer. It is possible to browse through all images and videos stored in Gallery by prev/next. Thumbnail of the last image or video is shown.

Second line shows the storing date of the last item.

Slideshow: Starts the slideshow (Gallery feature).

Second line shows the number of images included in the slideshow.

Albums: Opens the Albums view from Gallery. If there are no albums, the user can create a new album.

Second line shows the number of albums.

Now Playing: Shows the currently (or latest) played track and playback state (play, paused). Album art is shown if available. When selected, opens the music player.

Second line shows the title of currently/latest played track.

(Radio is not supported.)

Music: Selecting this opens the music menu with ”all songs” focused. This allows access to all music in the device.

Second line shows the number of tracks stored in the device.

Podcasts: Selecting this opens the podcast menu with ”all episodes” focused.

Second line shows the number of episodes stored in the collection.

Playlists: Selecting this opens the playlist menu view with ”all playlists” focused.

Second line shows the number of playlists stored in the device.

Shuffle all songs: Starts music player in shuffle mode with a random song.

Second line shows the total playback time of all music.

Contacts

Favourite contacts: The user can manually select up to 5 contacts from the device’s contacts list to the Contacts tile. These contacts are then fast and easily reachable for voice calling, SMS, and MMS. Thumbnails, if available for the selected contacts, are shown.

Calling and messaging are addressed to the default number of the contact. Default number is shown on the second line.

The user can arrange the contacts and modify them at any time.

The recent location objects: The Maps tile shows the location objects the user has used most recently. Maximum of 5 location objects can be shown. Selecting a location object launches the Maps application showing the selected location on the map.

Geo-Tagging

• Geo Tagging allows to combine captured images with GPS data• Close after capturing the images, the GPS feature try to receive the

coordinates and add them to the image metadata

• Usage flow:• activate camera• GPS is activated and it tries to get location fix• User captures images and in UI is indicating that GPS hasn’t found location• When GPS location is available it is indicated in UI• Location information is attached previously captured images• User can continue image capture and location information is added to

Integrated FM Transmitter

• FM Transmitter feature is implemented in RM-235 and RM-342 only!

1) Start the FM Transmitter application2) Type in the FM transmitter frequency, if required. It is recommended to seach a free frequency at your FM receiver first

3) Activate the FM transmitter. Tune your FM receiver to the frequence of the handset if not already done

4) Select FM transmitting feature in the music player application

1) Start WLAN scanning via menu point „WLAN scanning off“
