Profile CNE Business Development Ltd was established in 2004, to provide consulting services to Government Departments, Regional Authorities, Municipalities, Communities, Private Enterprises, Associations and Non-Governmental Organizations. The company is specializing in the planning, coordination and management of projects dealing with social, environmental and economic issues and the preparation of proposals for funding to EU programmes.

Founder and director of the company, Chrysses Nicolaides, is a Strategic consultant specializing in strategic planning and development and in conceiving, planning and coordination of projects. Has over 30 years experience in many sectors of the economy and held managerial positions in companies and multinational organisations in Cyprus and abroad. Chrysses has gained extensive international experience, with IT and management consulting assignments in Cyprus, Greece, United Kingdom, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Germany, Nigeria, Romania. He has contacted studies for Government Ministries and Semi-Government organizations - Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment, Cyprus State Fair Authority- Local Authorities and other organizations. He managed and coordinated a number of multidisciplinary projects funded by European initiatives in Urban, Rural and Regional Development, Culture, Society and the environment.

Networking, European and International Cooperation

EUMED Consortium In 2013, Chrysses Nicolaides established a consortium of organizations, professionals and experts from Europe and Mediterranean partner countries, to network and take full advantage of European funding programs and initiatives. Euro-Mediterranean Consortium of Professionals and experts, operating in European and Mediterranean Partner countries, is undertaking project work, plan, manage and execute projects, for European and International organizations.

EUMED Consortium has today 138 members from 30 Countries

Member organizations, professionals and experts have the opportunity to meet and participate in special events that are organized during the year. The philosophy of the program is that thematic events and cultural activities is a driving force that helps to bring businesses and individuals closer together, contributing in creating strong cooperation ties and enhancing business development opportunities.

The aim is to assist organizations and professionals to exchange ideas, transfer of know how, and plan the future projects and activities.

Smart Cities Mediterranean Cluster In 2014, Chrysses Nicolaides founded “Smart Cities in the Mediterranean” Strategic Partnership aiming to work for ‘smartering’ cities in the Mediterranean and other European regions by sharing resources, knowhow and experience. The scope of the Partnership is to identify, develop and deploy replicable, balanced and integrated solutions in the energy, transport, and ICT sectors, in select cities in the Mediterranean and other European regions.

SMART-MED Consortium has today 71 members from 17 Countries

The Partnership selects a number of pilot cities or communities to participate and contribute in demonstrating commercial-scale solutions. The cooperation with local leaders and municipal authorities will look to gain the vital support and visibility necessary to engage and empower citizens and local stakeholders to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption and to improve the urban environment.

The Partnership will provide solutions contributing towards EUROPE2020 climate action goals, increasing energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources and reducing energy consumption and green-house-gas emissions. The Partnership offers specialized services to the cities to develop and share innovative ideas and actions, finding the right partners, facilitating synergies between city authorities and companies together with other stakeholders, access to finance and funding. The objective is to manage key challenges for Cities and Communities and develop Smart City Plans to: • significantly increase the overall energy efficiency • increase the use of renewable energy sources, • achieve sustainable mobility and urban transport, • drastic ally reduce greenhouse gas emissions • Improve life conditions for citizens.

The work of the Partnership focuses in the following main areas: • (Nearly zero) or low energy districts • Integrated Infrastructures • Sustainable urban mobility

Project Commitments to European Innovation Partnership In May 2014, we have submitted 8 smart projects / commitments that were accepted and approved by the European Innovation Partnership and are listed in the Market Place.

Project Plan and funding application to HORIZON In May 2015, we have successfully submitted SmartSRoute project to HORIZON. The project idea was developed in November 2014 in the meeting of the initial partners in Limassol, Cyprus and further developed in a meeting/ workshop organized in March 2015 in Tarragona, Spain.
