While a blender, food processor, or coffee grinder will work best here, you can do this manually with a knife and cutting board. 3. Instructions Step 1 – Decarboxylation This is an important step if you want to make your butter more potent, especially if you’re using cannabis that was harvested recently (weed starts decarboxylating naturally over time). Even though you’ll be heating your cannabis in this step (which would dry it out if it was wet), you should still dry your cannabis first so you can measure it out properly (1 oz of dried bud, or 3 oz of dried trim per 1 lb of butter). If you skip the decarboxylation step the recipe will still work, but the resulting butter will be less potent. 2.) Lightly grind your cannabis buds/trim and spread it over the aluminum foil on the baking sheet. 3.) Bake for 1 hour. It will get really, really smelly in your house, so be prepared! It’s normal to see some steam and vapor while the cannabis is cooking. This isn’t all the potency evaporating away! 4.) Remove the dried cannabis from the oven and crumble up any bigger leftover pieces between your fingers. It’s normal for it to look very brown. You don’t need to make it into a powder, but there shouldn’t be whole nugs either. Now it’s time to cook the decarboxylated cannabis with the butter and water! Step 2 – Cook cannabis together with butter & water 1.) Bring 4 cups (950 mL) of water to a boil. 2.) Turn heat down to Medium-Low, then add the butter and wait until it melts into the water. 3.) Add your decarboxylated marijuana to the water. The cannabis plant matter will float, and there should be at least an inch or two of clearance under the cannabis. If not, add more water. Don’t worry that adding more water will change the potency, as you’ll be separating the water out later. The “good stuff” in cannabis doesn’t stick to water, in fact, water actually filters out a lot of the stuff we don’t want that make butter taste bad! 4.) Allow to cook on Medium-Low for 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. The bubbles should be gently rising to the top of the water but not actively boiling. Step 3 – Separate potent butter from inert cannabis plant material and water 1.) Line a large bowl with two layers of cheese cloth. We’ll be using this to strain out the inert plant matter from the butter! 2.) Strain the water/oil/cannabis mixture. It’s hot! Don’t wring it out with your

hands or you’ll burn yourself! Take a spatula to press it against the sides to squeeze out the last bit of butter!

3.) Put the bowl in the fridge overnight. All the “good stuff” is contained in the butter/oil, which floats to the top. The water and any remaining plant matter will sink to the bottom. When you open the fridge, the butter will have hardened and appear much lighter. 4.) Use a knife to cut around the outside edges and it usually will “pop” off in a big piece. The water filtered out all this! None of the “stuff” in this brown water would have added to the potency of your butter, but it would have made your butter taste worse! By filtering it out with water, you’ll end up with better tasting cannabis butter with less of a strong smell (without affecting the potency)! 5.) Put your finished cannabutter in its own container for storage/use! If you’d like, you can turn it upside down on a plate to help the bottom dry out. This is what one pound of amazing pot butter looks like! You can use cannabutter just like regular butter in any recipe, just do a 1:1 substitution!

Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 240°F. To start the process the first thing you must do is decarboxylate your flower. This is how you activate the THC in your cannabis. You can do this by first grinding up your cannabis and spreading it onto a baking sheet that has a layer of wax paper. Next you put this into the oven for about 40 min. After that is done remove and set it to the side. 2. The next step is to add your water into a pot and bring to a boil. Add the butter and let it melt. Once it is melted add the flower to the mixture and reduce the heat so that the mixture is at a simmer. Let simmer for 3 hours or until top is thick and glossy. 3. When done remove and pour into a bowl. Let cool in the fridge. 4. After the mixture has cooled you should be able to spoon the butter right off the layer of water underneath. Tip: When boiling make sure there is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of space between the flower and the bottom of the pot.

Instructions INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a medium saucepan bring a quart of water to a boil on the stove. You can vary the amounts, just be sure that the marijuana is always floating about 1 1/2 – 2 inches from the bottom of the pan. 2. When the water is boiling place the butter in the pan and allow it to melt completely. 3. After the butter has melted, add the marijuana. 4. Once the weed is added the heat should be turned down, very low, to barely a simmer. I usually let the weed cook for around three hours. 5. You can tell it’s done when the top of the mix turns from really watery to glossy and thick. 6. While the cannabutter is cooking set up the bowl to hold the finished product. I like to use a heatproof bowl, and some people use a plastic food container. Place a double layer of cheesecloth over the top, and secure it with elastic, string or tape. Strain the marijuana butter over the bowl, carefully trying not to spill. 7. When the saucepan is empty, undo the twine, pick up the cheesecloth from all four sides and squeeze out all of the remaining butter. 8. Allow the cannabutter to cool for about an hour. Place in the fridge until the butter has risen to the top layer and is solid. The THC and other properties have attached to the butter, and you are just about there. 9. Run a knife around the edge and lift the butter off. 10. Place upside down on your work surface and scrape off any of the cooking water. Your cannabutter is ready to roll. Enjoy!

Instructions Heat your oven to 240 degrees and place your weed on a baking sheet. Leave it in for at least 45 minutes and turn it regularly to ensure the marijuana is dried evenly. By the end, it should be dry, crumbly and ready for use. 1. Add the butter and water to the pot and place it on the stove on the simmer setting. The purpose of the water is to prevent the butter from burning. Add the weed once the butter has melted. Again, you have to decide how much cannabis you wish to add. 2. Keep the mixture on low heat for up to three hours and make sure you stir occasionally. It is essential that you avoid boiling the mix. Take away the cheesecloth, cover your concoction, and put it in the fridge to harden. You will notice that the butter separates from the water, so lift it off with the knife and remove it using a spatula. Place it in an airtight storage container. Dump the remaining water and start dreaming of the cannabis recipes you can use it for.

Instructions Decarboxylate Your Cannabis 1. Preheat oven to 240 degrees. 2. Grind or chop your cannabis. 3. Put the weed in your jar and seal the lid. Place the jar on a pie plate in the oven for 60 minutes. Every 15 minutes, 'burp' the jar (carefully open the lid just enough to vent) in a ventilated area. Method 1. Recipe Name Cannabis Infused Cooking Oil - #1 Recipe Cannabis cooking oil is a mixture of extracted cannabinoids and a cooking oil.

Instructions 1. Pour oil into a large saucepan, preferably a double boiler. 2. Heat on a medium setting, and let it warm up. 3. Do not let the oil boil! This is very important for making quality cannabis oil. 4. Once the oil is hot, but not boiling, you may add the cannabis powder. We have found the best results keeping the oil just on the edge of simmering, but not actually simmering. 5. Stir frequently, and watch for bubbles. If the oil begins to boil remove it from the heat until the temperature is low again and lower the heat! 6. Continue for at least 1 hour. We suggest allowing the bud to soak in the hot oil for about 2 hours. 7. Strain the oil through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer and press to remove all oil from the cannabis (make sure oil has cooled enough that you don’t burn yourself!) into a container

Recipe Name Cannabis Infused Cooking Oil - #2 Recipe Good and easy mixture to make and use

Instructions In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over low heat until thoroughly warmed. Add the decarbed cannabis to the oil. Stir to mix. Continue to cook over low heat for 3 hours. Stir occasionally. The oil should not boil or simmer, although it may bubble occasionally. Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth and place it over a large, heat-safe boil. Carefully pour the oil through the cheesecloth, allowing any excess oil to strain through. Remove the cheesecloth from the strainer, using gloves if the oil is still very hot, and squeeze any remaining oil into the bowl. I am firmly against placing cannabutter in the microwave so I pre- heat the oven to the lowest temperature and place the cannabutter in an oven-safe open container to soften up. Instructions Directions Heat the unsalted regular butter and the cannabis butter in a deep pan and let them melt well for 3 to 5 minutes. Once they have melted, add the flour in little by little, whisking it in with the butter properly. Next, add the milk in small batches just like the flour and whisk it in as well to form a smooth mixture. If you add the milk all together at once the mixture will become lumpy. Once you are done mixing in the milk, add the different seasonings namely, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper. Instructions So the first step of this recipe is to melt your 1 cup of cannabutter down in a medium sized pot on the stove. Then you are going to mix in the dash of salt and 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar. Once these ingredients have combined, stir in the milk and corn syrup. It should be noted here that you are going to want to consistently continue to stir the mixture throughout the entire process. We are working with a small amount of caramels here so it is advised to let this mixture heat up on medium to high heat for around 12 to 15 minutes, or until the mixture starts to turn into a goo and harden. It is at this point that we are going to mix in the 1 tablespoon of vanilla. Once the vanilla has been evenly dispersed, pour the caramel into a 9×13 inch pan and let them cool. A 9×13 inch pan is not required, but I’ve found it works best with the amount of caramel we are working with here. Once these are cooled, cut wrap and serve. As an added tip, I personally like to add coarse salt on top or drizzle them in some melted chocolate.

Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 240 degrees. 2. Grind up your cannabis so that there are no visible solid nugs remaining. Make a disposable tray out of aluminum foil by folding up the edges; spread out the cannabis evenly. Bake for 60-70 minutes, peeking every 15-20 minutes or so to ensure that the herb is toasting evenly. 3. When your cannabis has a slightly nutty, toasty odor and the color darkens from a brighter green to brown as shown, you have successfully completed an essential element to cooking with cannabis: decarboxylation. 4. Divide your decarb'd cannabis between two empty tea bags (you can pick these up cheap on Amazon) and place in the jar. Pour the alcohol in the Mason jar, ensuring that the alcohol is completely covering the cannabis. 5. Use a water bath to heat the alcohol/cannabis mixture. Fill a medium size pot with a couple inches of hot water, enough to heat the jar without completely covering it. Just fill a pint jar halfway with high-proof alcohol, then every time you make a batch of tincture toss your spent bags in the jar. After three or four months strain and enjoy…carefully and responsibly, of course! Once you have strained and filtered your tincture, store it in a dark glass bottle in a cool place, safe from light. A brighter green tincture indicates a high chlorophyll content, thus may have a slightly stronger weed flavor.
